JAKARTA INDONESIA (ISL News) - PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok (PTP Nonpetikemas), a subsidiary of PT Pelindo Multi Terminal, has once again strengthened its role in supporting the national industrial supply chain by handling the import and unloading of 21,612 tons of steel billets and other commodities at the PTP Nonpetikemas Pier, Tanjung Priok Branch, North Jakarta on Tuesday, (26/05/2026) using environmentally friendly loading and unloading equipment.
The raw materials for the steel industry were transported aboard the 190-meter-long (LOA) MV Shanghai Bulker, which arrived from Nansha Port, China. The steel billets were destined for PT The Master Steel Manufactory as part of efforts to maintain a sustainable supply of raw materials for the national manufacturing and steel industry.
Loading and unloading activities are carried out with the support of adequate environmentally friendly facilities and operational equipment to ensure a safe, smooth, and productive process. The handling of this large volume of steel billets also confirms the readiness of PTP Nonpetikemas Tanjung Priok Branch to serve the logistics flow of strategic national commodities.
Ruly Arief Dwiyana, Branch Manager of PTP NonPetikemas Tanjung Priok Branch, said the activity reflects the company's commitment to providing reliable and efficient multipurpose terminal services for industrial needs and is environmentally friendly.

As a form of implementation of an environmental management system based on ISO 14001 and PROPER assessment, emission control, energy efficiency, waste management based on the 3R principle, and optimization of a more environmentally friendly loading and unloading process. On the operational side, PTP Non-container Tanjung Priok Branch also implements various innovations such as the use of LED lights, the use of overhead cranes (OHC) to reduce dependence on fossil fuel equipment, to the electrification of loading and unloading equipment such as Gantry Luffing Cranes (GLC) as part of the transition to low-emission operations.
In line with strengthening operational services, PTP Nonpetikemas continues to strive to improve service quality and infrastructure readiness to support national logistics needs, especially the strategic industrial sector that is the driver of Indonesia's economic growth.

Performance of PTP Non-Container Tanjung Priok Branch
On a consolidated basis, in the first quarter of 2026, non-containerized PTP throughput reached 12.4 million tons, representing a 3.84 percent increase compared to 11.9 million tons in the same period last year. This growth was driven by dry bulk traffic of 5.7 million tons, liquid bulk traffic of 3 million tons, general cargo traffic of 2.9 million tons, and bag cargo traffic of 656,000 tons.
In the first quarter of 2026, PTP Non-container through the Tanjung Priok Branch contributed dominant revenue of 58.82% of the company's total revenue. In terms of operational performance, the Tanjung Priok Branch also contributed significantly by 32.4% to the total throughput of PTP Non-container, with an achievement of 4.03 million tons/m³ of the total consolidated throughput recorded at 12.4 million tons/m³. Meanwhile, the achievement of PT Pelindo Multi Terminal Group, PTP Non-container Tanjung Priok Branch recorded impressive performance with a throughput reaching 4.03 million tons/m³, or equivalent to 14% of the total throughput of Pelindo Multi Terminal services as a group of 27.64 million tons/m³.
Loading and unloading productivity performance Ton/Ship/Day (T/S/D) where the realization of TSD for general cargo and bag cargo packaging up to the first quarter of 2026 was 4,024, for liquid bulk packaging TSD up to the first quarter of 2026 was 1,746, for dry bulk packaging TSD up to the first quarter of 2026 was 3,857.
"The performance achievement in the first quarter of 2026 reflects the strategic role of the Tanjung Priok Branch as a major contributor to the growth of PTP Non-Container and the Pelindo Multi Terminal Group," said Ruly.
Year-on-year (YoY) comparison, with a 6% increase compared to the 4.03 million tons achieved in the same period last year. This surge was primarily driven by a dominant increase in dry bulk commodities, which amounted to 1.41 million tons.
Supported by adequate multipurpose infrastructure, PTP Non-container Tanjung Priok Branch has a pier length of 3,314 meters, a stacking yard of 158,342 square meters, a warehouse of 26,191 square meters, and is supported by loading and unloading equipment such as Gantry Luffing Crane (GLC), hopper, grab, forklift, and weighbridge.
Operational activities at the PTP Non-container pier, Tanjung Priok Branch, today are dominated by the handling of various strategic commodities, including the unloading of CPO, RBDO, and RBDS, as well as the loading of bulk cement, rice, mixed goods, heavy equipment, vehicles, and general cargo to support inter-regional logistics distribution.
For liquid bulk commodities, unloading of CPO, RBDO, and RBDS is still ongoing to support the distribution of industrial and energy needs. Meanwhile, for dry bulk and general cargo commodities, operational activities include loading rice, bulk cement, mixed goods, heavy equipment, and vehicles to various domestic destinations. Overall, all operations are running safely, smoothly, and productively.
