BANDAR LAMPUNG (ISL News) - IPC Terminal Petikemas (IPC TPK) is strengthening its logistics services in the Lampung region by operating a container depot in Panjang Port, Bandar Lampung, with PT Citra Prima Container as its strategic partner. This step is part of IPC TPK's efforts to improve the quality of its container terminal support services while streamlining the flow of exports and imports in the region.
The 10,000 m2 container depot is one of the terminal's supporting facilities, playing a crucial role in facilitating container shipments. The depot, integrated with the container terminal in a single area, is expected to expedite the logistics process, from preparing empty containers to delivering goods to ships.
IPC TPK Panjang Area Manager, Anang Subagyono, stated that this collaboration on container depot services is a strategic step in strengthening the logistics ecosystem at Panjang Port. Through synergy with PT Citra Prima Container, the depot manager, IPC TPK supports the availability of empty containers to meet growing export needs. The integration of services between the container terminal and depot within a single area is expected to improve the efficiency of goods distribution and provide convenience for service users.
"Through service synergy between the container terminal managed by IPC TPK and the container depot operated by our partners, we strive to create a more integrated logistics ecosystem at Panjang Port. This collaboration is part of a joint effort to support the smooth distribution of empty containers for export, so that service users can receive more efficient and timely logistics services," said Anang Subagyono, Manager of IPC TPK Panjang Area.
With the high level of trade activity through Panjang Port, the need for integrated logistics services continues to grow. Data from the Lampung Province Central Statistics Agency (BPS) indicates that Lampung's export value reached US$1.38 billion in January–March 2026. This situation demonstrates the importance of supporting logistics facilities, including container depots integrated with terminals, to expedite the flow of goods and improve service efficiency for users.
The presence of this container depot is expected to provide a concrete solution amidst the rising trend of export commodities in the Panjang region and its surroundings. With the distribution process for empty containers that significantly reduces operational time, exporters can now optimize their shipping capacity. Ease of access to ready-to-use empty containers is believed to be a powerful stimulus in driving increased export volumes of the region's leading commodities to the global market.
This strategic step also demonstrates the two companies' shared commitment to supporting smooth national logistics operations. Efficient service integration between the terminal and container depot will minimize operational disruptions in the field. Ultimately, this strengthened supply chain will not only enhance Panjang Port's competitiveness but also open up significantly greater economic growth opportunities for the surrounding region.
"This collaboration on container depot services in the Panjang Port area represents a form of synergy between logistics players to strengthen connectivity and provide convenience for service users. With integrated services between the container terminal and depot, it is hoped that the logistics process will become more efficient and support efforts to reduce logistics costs," Anang concluded.
