JAKARTA INDONESIA (ISL News, March 2026) – PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok (PTP Nonpetikemas) ensures that terminal operations at the PTP Nonpetikemas Tanjung Priok Branch will continue to run smoothly during the Eid al-Fitr holiday period. Currently (March 27), activity on the ground is normal, with 16 vessels docked, mostly carrying crude palm oil (CPO) and general cargo for oceangoing routes.
In terms of terminal capacity, the yard's storage conditions remain within safe limits. The yard occupancy ratio (YOR) is recorded at around 40 percent, lower than the normal average of around 50 percent. With a maximum YOR limit of 65 percent, the terminal still has sufficient space to accommodate the flow of cargo.
To anticipate potential traffic congestion heading to the port, the Tanjung Priok branch of PTP Non-Container has also prepared a buffer area to serve as temporary parking in the event of a surge in traffic. This facility covers approximately 2 hectares of land in Inggom and an additional 3 hectares in the regional area.
In addition, operational gate readiness and terminal systems are continuously monitored as part of mitigation measures in the event of increased vehicle flow in and out of the port area. Pelindo Regional 2, along with PTP Non-container and Pelindo Group entities operating in Tanjung Priok, has also established a Joint Command Center as an operational coordination center to ensure smooth port activities and maintained logistics distribution.
Several anticipatory measures have also been implemented since the start of Ramadan. In the first week of Ramadan, PTP Non-Container coordinated with port stakeholders, including shipping lines, customers, and freight forwarders, to schedule loading and unloading activities to prevent congestion at terminals during the period of freight restrictions.
Budi Utoyo, Branch Manager of PTP Non-Container Terminal Tanjung Priok, stated that overall, operational conditions at the terminal remain under control and are ready to serve logistics flows during the Eid al-Fitr holiday period. He noted that currently, the vessels served at the PTP Non-Container Terminal Tanjung Priok are dominated by crude palm oil (CPO) and general cargo for both oceangoing and domestic routes.
"With yard conditions remaining safe and operational facilities in place, we are optimistic that loading and unloading activities at Tanjung Priok Terminal will continue to run smoothly. We are also continuing to strengthen coordination with all port stakeholders to ensure optimal service to our customers," said Budi.
