SURABAYA (ISL News, February 7, 2026) - Berlian Container Terminal, part of PT Terminal Teluk Lamong, held a "Plant Trees to Save the Earth" activity, which was carried out as a form of the company's concern for environmental preservation and efforts to maintain ecosystem balance.
The planting activity took place on Friday, February 6, 2026. A total of 50 trees were planted in the TPK Berlian Container Stacking Yard area. The types of trees planted included 5 fruit trees, 5 ornamental palm trees, 20 bougainvillea plants, and 20 red shoots.
This tree-planting activity demonstrates the company's commitment to creating a beautiful work environment and serves as a momentum to emphasize that the obligation to preserve the port environment is the responsibility of every individual working there.
Terminal Head of TPK Berlian, Burhanuddin, emphasized that this greening program is a concrete manifestation of the company's support for the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles which are currently being accelerated throughout the Pelindo Group.
"Our main focus is on environmental protection, biodiversity conservation, and active efforts in natural habitat restoration," said Burhanuddin.
This tree planting activity is part of a series of events commemorating the 2026 National Occupational Safety and Health (K3) Month.
This initiative aims to optimize the company's role in reducing carbon emissions, filtering air pollution in the port area, and preventing flooding. Furthermore, this planting is expected to improve comfort for workers and service users operating within the Berlian TPK area.
This activity was carried out collaboratively within the Pelindo Group environment. "Through this greening activity, we want to create a green and safe ecosystem and work environment, as one of our priorities in supporting efforts to increase work productivity. We are committed to ensuring this activity runs sustainably," concluded Angga Pradiptya, SVP of Management Systems and HSSE of PT Pelindo Terminal Petikemas.
