SURABAYA (ISL News, February 4, 2026) – In order to commemorate the 2026 National Occupational Safety and Health (K3) Month, PT Terminal Teluk Lamong held an Emergency Response Competition as an effort to improve preparedness and emergency response capabilities in the port operational environment.
Twelve teams representing internal divisions and PT Terminal Teluk Lamong's partners participated in the event. The Emergency Response competition served as both a training tool and a realistic simulation of how to deal with potential emergencies in the terminal area.
This year's Emergency Response competition featured two main skill categories: firefighting using a fire engine and victim evacuation using a stretcher. Both categories were designed to test a team's speed, accuracy, and coordination in handling emergency situations.
The competition was held in the operational area of PT Terminal Teluk Lamong with a scenario that resembled real conditions in the port environment, so that participants could experience firsthand the implementation of emergency response procedures in accordance with the potential operational risks of the terminal.
This Emergency Response Competition was organized by HSSE TPK Teluk Lamong and implemented collaboratively with HSSE Head Office PT Terminal Teluk Lamong, in line with the theme of the 2026 National K3 Month, namely "Building a Professional, Reliable, and Collaborative National K3 Management Ecosystem."
This activity was officially opened by Mr. Rivel, as HSSE Manager of PT Terminal Teluk Lamong.
"Through this Emergency Response Competition, we want to ensure that all divisions and partners are well-prepared and understand how to deal with emergencies, so that emergency response procedures can be implemented quickly, accurately, and in a coordinated manner," said Rivel.
Through this activity, PT Terminal Teluk Lamong hopes that all divisions and work partners will be more alert, trained, and ready to face emergency conditions, while also strengthening the culture of occupational safety and health in the port environment.
