JAKARTA INDONESIA (ISL News, February 3, 2026) - IPC Terminal Petikemas or IPC TPK, affirms its commitment to supporting law enforcement and environmental protection efforts through synergy with the Indonesian Navy Regional Command (Koarmada RI Kodaeral III) in uncovering the case of mangrove charcoal shipment without official documents at Tanjung Priok Port.
Supervision was carried out on two 40-foot container boxes that arrived at Pier 210 of Tanjung Priok Port using the MV ICON JAMES II 13. The containers were known to contain mangrove charcoal originating from Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan, and were not equipped with valid documents in accordance with statutory regulations.
During the joint inspection, a total weight of approximately 74 tons of mangrove charcoal was discovered. All inspections and container openings were carried out in accordance with established procedures and with a focus on precautionary measures.
IPC TPK Corporate Secretary, Pramestie Wulandary, stated that IPC TPK fully supports the authorities' firm measures to maintain port security and environmental sustainability. "IPC TPK is committed to fully supporting the Indonesian Navy and all law enforcement agencies in their efforts to prevent and prosecute illegal activities in port areas. Container terminals are not only logistics hubs, but also the vanguard in maintaining legal compliance and environmental sustainability," Pramestie said.
He added that mangrove charcoal is a product of mangrove forests that has important ecological functions, and its use must comply with applicable regulations. "We ensure that all loading and unloading activities within the IPC TPK area are carried out in accordance with regulations. Cross-agency synergy is key to creating a safe, orderly, and sustainable port," he added.
As a container terminal operator, IPC TPK continues to strengthen coordination with the Indonesian Navy, law enforcement officials, and other relevant agencies to maintain the integrity of the national logistics chain and prevent misuse of port facilities.
Going forward, IPC TPK will continue to support monitoring and law enforcement efforts as part of the company's commitment to protecting natural resources and supporting responsible port governance.
