JAKARTA INDONESIA (ISL News, February 19, 2026) - Indonesian Navy officers or TNI AL, will collaborate to strengthen the maritime scouts of state-owned port operator PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo. The strategic maritime synergy was formalized through the signing of a cooperation agreement between the two parties, represented by the Assistant Personnel of the Chief of Naval Staff (Kasal), Bambang Irwanto, and Pelindo's Director of Operations, Putut Sri Muljanto, which took place at Pelindo Tower, Jakarta, Wednesday (February 19, 2026).
The cooperation agreement is a form of synergy in supporting the availability of pilot human resources for ship pilotage operations as part of the port services provided by Pelindo at ports in Indonesia.
"Through this collaboration with the Indonesian Navy, the support of pilotage officers from the Indonesian Navy is expected to strengthen pilotage services, particularly in eastern Indonesia, which faces geographical challenges, maritime safety issues, and increased logistics flows. This will further enhance the safety and smooth operation of services at strategic ports," said Putut Sri Muljanto after the event.
Furthermore, Putut stated that this collaboration is also expected to provide added value to the development of the competence and professionalism of Indonesian Navy human resources through operational experience in the national port industry. "We hope this collaboration can continue, mutually reinforcing, and provide tangible benefits for Pelindo and the Indonesian Navy, while also supporting the national logistics and shipping safety system," he added.
Through the signing of this cooperation agreement, Pelindo affirmed its commitment to continue supporting the development of national maritime human resources (HR) and strengthening collaboration with defense institutions in realizing safe, professional, and high-standard port services.
