SURABAYA (ISL News, 30/1/2026) – PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya (TPS), a subsidiary of PT Pelindo Terminal Petikemas (SPTP), has once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting the improvement of the quality of basic education in Indonesia through its Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) activities. This year, TPS distributed around 800 children's reading books to several elementary schools in Malang City. These 800 books were voluntary donations from all TPS workers as a form of active involvement in TJSL activities.
This book donation program aims to enrich students' reading materials and support early childhood literacy. The books donated include children's storybooks, general knowledge books, motivational books, and other educational books selected to encourage students' interest in reading and creativity.
Acting Corporate Secretary of TPS, Pragola Jiwa Suryanto, stated that this activity is part of TPS's commitment to education, particularly for the younger generation in East Java.
"We believe that access to quality books is a crucial foundation for building an intelligent, creative, and competitive generation. Through this donation, we hope that children in Malang will have greater opportunities to learn and broaden their horizons," he said.
The distribution was carried out directly by the TPS TJSL team, who visited several elementary schools targeted by the program. Teachers welcomed the initiative and hope similar activities can continue in the years to come.
In addition to book donations, TPS is also committed to continuing to run various other social programs that focus on education, the environment and community empowerment as a concrete manifestation of the company's role in sustainable development.
Through this activity, TPS hopes to have a positive impact on improving children's literacy and strengthening good relations between the company and the surrounding community.
