JAKARTA INDONESIA (ISL News) - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2 Tanjung Priok conveyed weather forecast information to all port service users and port employees as a form of risk mitigation and operational safety efforts.
Based on official data from the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), maritime weather conditions in the Jakarta Bay area on January 12–15, 2026 are predicted to be dominated by west to northwest winds with speeds ranging from 8–14 knots, accompanied by the potential for wind gusts of up to 27 knots at certain times.
Significant wave heights are predicted to be in the range of 0.5 to 1.4 meters, which has the potential to impact ship service and loading and unloading activities.
Based on field monitoring, puddles and flooding did occur on a number of roads leading to the Tanjung Priok Port area, as also happened at various other points in Jakarta. Until now, conditions in the port operational area remain under control and all port activities, including loading and unloading and terminal services, continue to run normally and smoothly.
In connection with these conditions, Executive General Manager of Pelindo Regional 2 Tanjung Priok, Yandri Tri Saputra appealed to:
• Port service users to always pay attention to the latest weather information and traffic information and prioritize safety aspects in every operational activity.
• Ship and terminal operators to increase awareness of the potential for increased wind and waves.
• All port employees to continue to comply with work safety procedures and be alert to weather changes that may occur at any time.
"We apologize for the somewhat delayed service due to the current weather conditions and we continue to coordinate intensively with BMKG, KSOP, Customs & Excise, Port Police and other related parties to ensure the smooth and safe operation of the port because Safety and Smooth Service are our top priorities," Yandri concluded.
