BANTEN (ISL News) – PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2 Banten reported the latest developments at the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year (Nataru) Sea Transportation Post. Entering the seventh day (D+7) which coincides with Christmas, movement at Ciwandan Port recorded a significant surge in volume, but the flow of vehicles and passengers remained smooth and conducive.

General Manager of Pelindo Regional 2 Banten, Benny Ariadi, stated that his party had anticipated the traffic surge on the seventh day by maximizing all operational resources and port facilities.

"Today, we recorded quite high cumulative traffic figures, reaching over 12,000 vehicles. This aligns with our predictions for peak departure traffic. Thankfully, despite the heavy traffic, traffic flow in the port area remains smooth," said Benny.

Based on operational data from the Nataru Post until December 25, 2025 at 10:10 WIB, Pelindo Regional 2 Banten recorded the following traffic realization:

Accumulative Traffic Data (Until Day 7 / December 25, 2025):

Total Ship Services (Trip/Call): A total of 110 ships have been operating to serve crossings.

Passenger Movement: Total passengers served reached 15,890 people.

Two-Wheeled Vehicles (R2): A total of 6,623 motorbikes have been transported.

Logistics Vehicles (Trucks): The logistics distribution flow was recorded at 5,935 trucks.

Total Vehicles: Overall, the total number of vehicles (combined R2 and Trucks) passing through Ciwandan Port has reached 12,558 units.

Facing this peak flow, Pelindo Regional 2 Banten Management continues to strengthen coordination with all stakeholders, including the police, the Port Authority (KSOP), the Regional Transportation Agency (BPTD), and ship operators. The primary focus now is expediting the loading and unloading process and managing queues in the waiting area to ease congestion.

"Our priorities during this peak period are safety and speed of service. We are ensuring that all supporting facilities, from health posts and restrooms to rest areas, are functioning optimally to serve the thousands of passengers who are filling the port today," added Benny.

Pelindo Regional 2 Banten urges all service users, especially two-wheeled drivers, to remain cautious, comply with the directions of officers in the field, and not push themselves if they are physically tired.

The latest information regarding Ciwandan Port operations will continue to be updated regularly during the 2025/2026 Christmas and New Year Transportation period.
