Pelindo Solusi Logistik or SPSL, along with Bali Gapura Marina, Launched its first dock (Dock B), ready to serve dozens of yachts.

BALI INDONESIA (ISL News)  – PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo through its subholding, PT Pelindo Solusi Logistik, together with its partner Marina Development Indonesia (MDI) inaugurated the operation of Dock B Bali Gapura Marina, Development Area 1 of Benoa Port, Bali.



This inauguration marks the start of partial operations of Bali Benoa Gapura Marina as the first full-service marina of international standards in Indonesia, and is also an important achievement in the development of the Bali Maritime Tourism Hub (BMTH) area.



Dock B is one of five docks that form the core of the initial marina development, and continues the momentum of the groundbreaking of Bali Gapura Marina in September-May 2025.



Construction of Dock B began in September - July 2025 with the installation of 11 pontoon modules stretching up to 192,163 meters and capable of supporting a minimum load of approximately 500,550 kg per square meter.



With the launch of this facility, Bali Gapura Marina is now ready to welcome dozens of yachts, equipped with essential amenities such as clean water, electricity, and ship logistics that meet international standards. The development of this premium facility is a strategic step to strengthen Indonesia's mission to compete in the rapidly growing premium yacht and marina tourism market.



The Head of Bappenas of the Republic of Indonesia, represented by the Director of Tourism, Creative Economy, and Digital Economy, Wahyu Wijayanto, SIP, MA, Prof. Dr. Ir. Rachmat Pambudy, MS, in his remarks said that the development of the premium marina tourism area in Benoa has become one of the concerns of Bappenas.



"In line with the 2025-2045 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJPN) and the 2025-2029 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN), the development of sustainable maritime tourism is one of the targets of the 2025-2029 national development program. Indonesia has great potential in the maritime sector, therefore we support Pelindo's development of BMTH, especially in the construction of Bali Gapura Marina as a premium marina in Indonesia," he said.



Muhammad Suriawan Wakan, Technical Director of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero), explained that this achievement confirms Indonesia's strategic potential to become a leading maritime tourism destination globally.



"Bali Gapura Marina is not just an infrastructure project, but rather a shared commitment to open new opportunities and raise the standards of Indonesia's premium maritime tourism services. The presence of Bali Gapura Marina is expected to be a spark for the birth of other premium marinas in Indonesia and make Indonesia a new leading destination in the world of international maritime tourism. This inauguration confirms Pelindo's commitment to strengthening the development of world-class marinas in various regions," he explained.



The Governor of Bali Province, I Wayan Koster, in his presence at the Pilot Launching of Bali Gapura Marina, expressed his support and emphasized the urgency of the development of Bali Gapura Marina.



"Bali, as a leading global tourist destination, has long needed international-standard facilities like this marina," Koster said.

"Through the development of Bali Gapura Marina, we want to convey Pelindo's commitment to advancing ports not only in terms of logistics but also in terms of maritime tourism. The presence of Bali Gapura Marina is expected to spark the birth of other premium marinas in Indonesia and establish Indonesia as a new leading destination in the world of international maritime tourism.



"We continue to accelerate the development of marina facilities in Indonesia, including making Benoa Port an international-standard homeport within the Bali Maritime Tourism Hub. We will continue to accelerate the development of Bali Benoa Marina to realize the company's long-term vision of promoting Indonesia as a global maritime hub," he explained.



To ensure the best service and safety, all technology and operations at Bali Benoa Marina and Bali Gapura Marina adhere to international dock standards. Its implementation is based on the International Safety Management Code (IMS), including the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS), and the PIANC Protocol of the World Water Transport Infrastructure Association.



Strategic support for marina operations was also conveyed by PT Pelindo Solusi Logistik (SPSL), Pelindo's subholding in logistics and hinterland development as the manager of the BMTH Development Area I. SPSL's Commercial and Technical Director, Ruri I. Rachmaputri, emphasized that Bali Gapura Marina is an important milestone in the company's commitment to building a world-class marina tourism hub ecosystem that prioritizes sustainability and technological excellence in Indonesia.



"We are implementing holistic integration in the development of this marina, encompassing a comfortable sailing experience, premium service, and modern infrastructure. This effort aims to promote Indonesia's position as a major player in the global maritime tourism industry," he said.



PT Marina Development Indonesia, the developer and operator of Bali Gapura Marina, expressed optimism about the marina's progress. The marina's development is the result of intensive collaboration with strategic partners, including PT Marina Development Indonesia, which has experience in managing marina facilities and supporting commercial areas.



"The launch of Dock B is a start. The target launch of docks C and D is in the early second quarter of 2026 and for full service in 2028. Bali Benoa MarinaBali Gapura Marina will be the first international standard full service marina in Indonesia, and in the future we have the ambition to make this marina the largest in Southeast Asia. will be the largest marina in Southeast Asia. We are committed to realizing the future of the marina world in Indonesia," explained Ulf Backlund, President Director of PT Marina Development Indonesia.



With the launch of this facility, Bali Gapura Marina is now ready to welcome dozens of yachts, equipped with essential amenities such as clean water, electricity, and internationally standardized docking infrastructure. The development of this premium facility is a strategic step to strengthen Indonesia's mission to compete in the rapidly growing premium yacht and marina tourism market.



"Today, we launched the pilot for Dock B Bali Gapura Marina, which means we are ready to accommodate up to 48 yachts docked at this marina. The other docks will be ready to launch soon, increasing our service capacity. We will continue to monitor progress to ensure Bali Gapura Marina is fully operational by 2028," explained Ulf Backlund, Director of PT Marina Development Indonesia.



Bali Governor I Wayan Koster also expressed his support and hopes for the smooth operation of Bali Gapura Marina. The presence of Bali Gapura Marina is seen as complementing efforts to develop the Benoa Port area as a premium Indonesian maritime tourism hub and supporting economic growth in the region.



 "The construction of this international-standard marina is expected to enhance the appeal of Bali's marine tourism and strengthen Indonesia's position on the global maritime tourism map. Furthermore, it is hoped that the marina will have a direct positive impact on the Balinese economy. The Bali Provincial Government consistently supports regional development initiatives that further strengthen Bali's role as a global maritime tourism destination," he said.



After the pilot launch of Dock B, development will continue with the construction of Dock C and D which are targeted to be completed in the first quarter of 2026. Full operation of the marina is targeted in 2028, where In the future, this progressive development will continue to be carried out to maintain the achievement of the full operation target of Bali Gapura Marina in 2027 2028 which will have been equipped with a yacht club, service station and other supporting facilities. In addition, in the Development Area I of BMTH, a shopping center will also be built, as well as a premium leisure activity and entertainment center to provide a more complete and enjoyable sailing experience for visitors in Benoa.



Overall, the presence of this marina not only reflects Pelindo's commitment to service and safety standards but also underscores its commitment to building an integrated, resilient, and sustainable tourism port ecosystem. Bali Benoa Marina is now poised to strengthen Indonesia's position as a leading destination on the global maritime tourism map.
