The incident had an impact on TPK Bitung's operational performance, which had declined for some time.
PT Pelindo Terminal Petikemas Corporate Secretary Widyaswendra said the company is taking short-term measures by bringing in a number of container loading and unloading aids, which will arrive between July and August 2025.
"We will bring in 1 new reach stacker unit that will arrive at the end of July 2025, in addition to that, there are also 2 additional RTG units, 4 head truck units from TPK New Makassar which are planned to arrive in the second week of August 2025," said Widyaswendra, Wednesday (09/07/2025).
In addition to meeting the need for container loading and unloading equipment, the company is also working to improve the performance of the equipment currently at the Bitung Container Terminal (TPK). Several technical teams have been brought in from several container terminals in the region to support the expedited resolution of technical issues so that the loading and unloading equipment can operate optimally as quickly as possible. This also includes ensuring the readiness of the quay container crane (QCC) to handle ship loading and unloading activities.
In the long term, the company is accelerating the procurement of 2 new RTG units which are expected to arrive in 2026.
"There were ship queues, but this has gradually been resolved. By July 2025, there will be no more ship queues, and receiving and delivery performance is now in line with service promises," Widyaswendra added.
