JAKARTA (ISL News) - PT Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia / BKI (Persero) as the Lead Holding of the Holding BUMN Jasa Survei, IDSurvey consisting of PT SUCOFINDO and PT Surveyor Indonesia held a Focus Group Discussion entitled "Safely Transporting Battery-Based Electric Vehicles - Best Practices for Ship Owners & Maritime Logistics." This event was held in a hybrid manner at the Ali Sadikin Hall, Graha BKI, Jakarta, on Tuesday, May 7, 2025.
This forum is a real form of collaboration to answer the challenges and opportunities of the development of electric vehicles (EV) in Indonesia, especially related to the safety aspects of EV transportation through sea transportation. This discussion reviews the strategy for implementing EV transportation safety standards on ships, covering operational and financial aspects as a risk mitigation measure.
Present at this event were Arief Nurtjahjo, SVP of Classification Business Operations of PT BKI (Persero), Capt. Hendri Ginting MM, Director of Shipping and Maritime Affairs of the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia, as Keynote Speaker, and Alex Nurwahyudy, Marine Investigator KNKT, as moderator.
The speakers who attended came from various institutions and backgrounds, including Franky Affandi as CTO of PT Fast, Dimas Yunianto P as R&D Engineer at Gotion High-Tech, Khoiri Soetomo as General Chair of GAPASDAP.
Also present were Amir Makbul as Head of Sub-Directorate of Ship Design and Stability of the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia, Mohammad Arif Kurniawan as SM. Research and Development of Operational Business of PT BKI (Persero), and Yohanes Oscarino as Claim Group Head of PT Tugu Reasuransi Indonesia.
