
JAKARTA TANJUNG PRIOK (ISL News) - PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok (PTP Nonpetikemas), part of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo Group, has been entrusted to provide port services for the arrival of commuter trainsets on Friday, January 31, 2025 at Tanjung Priok Port.
The Commuter Trainset was imported from CRRC Qingdao Sifang Co., Ltd. by PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI), also known as KAI Commuter. A total of 11 trainsets will be brought in gradually throughout the first semester of 2025, with the first stage delivery being one trainset.
As a non-container terminal operator operating in 11 regions in Indonesia, PTP Nonpetikemas, which is also a subsidiary of the subholding PT Pelindo Multi Terminal (SPMT), has more than a decade of experience in handling loading and unloading and other port services for various types of cargo, such as liquid bulk, dry bulk, general cargo, one of which is a series of trains used as a means of mass public transportation.
PTP Nonpetikemas President Director, Indra Hidayat Sani, explained that unloading trainsets at the port is very important to support the public transportation system which includes aspects of the economy and public mobility, especially amidst the increasing number of public transportation users in Jakarta.
"As part of the transformation that has been running for more than two years after the Pelindo merger, PTP Nonpetikemas, which has experience in handling various types of Multipurpose port services, ensures that the port service process for unloading trainset activities runs according to procedures and is monitored in real time," said Indra.
This unloading process involves various parties, and requires high coordination and precision so that the train set can be immediately prepared for operation.
Budi Utoyo, Branch Manager of PTP Nonpetikemas Tanjung Priok Branch, added that the unloading of the trainset was carried out at TPS Ambon Kade 202, Tanjung Priok Port, Jakarta. The unloading of the trainset consists of 12 carriages per train set, consisting of 2 locomotive carriages, 4 trailer carriages, 6 motor carriages, and accessories. All of these train sets will be unloaded from the XIN DA QIANG ship which carries general cargo.
"The provision of port services for this trainset unloading activity will be carried out with the support of reliable infrastructure and superstructure, in line with the implementation of Pelindo's post-merger transformation. The estimated time to complete this loading and unloading activity is two days with good weather conditions," said Budi.
The unloading process of the new KRL from QRRC Qingdao Sifang was carried out at pier 202 of Tanjung Priok Port. Attended by the President Director of PT KAI (Persero) Didiek Hartantyo, President Director of PT KCI Asdo Artriviyanto, President Director of PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok Indra Hidayat Sani, Director of Commercial and Business Development of PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok Dwi Rahmad Toto S. and the ranks of the Directorate General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation.
In his remarks, the President Director of PT KCI, Asdo Artiviyanto, expressed his gratitude to PTP Nonpetikemas for contributing to supporting the improvement and optimization of commuter line services in the Jabodetabek area, especially in the first unloading activity of the trainset which ran on time and smoothly.
As a major port in Indonesia, Tanjung Priok Port plays a strategic role in the import process of this trainset. After unloading and inspection are complete, the trainsets will be transported to the station or depot for further preparation, such as feasibility testing and operational preparation. With facilities capable of handling large and heavy loads, the port also supports the government's program in ensuring the smooth operation of train-based public transportation.
