INDONESIA - LEMBAR (ISL News) – PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) Regional 3 has once again successfully made history, after previously successfully docking the jumbo cruise ship Genting Dream, this time the largest ship that has ever stopped in Indonesia Quantum of the Seas was successfully brought in and docked. This time it was the turn of the Gilimas terminal in Lembar Port to successfully serve. The arrival of this ship is proof of Pelindo's readiness as a gateway for international sea route tourism
The Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines' Quantum of the Seas jumbo ship successfully docked at Gilimas Port on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 06.00 WITA. The docking process of this giant ship involved pilotage and towing services through 2 tugboats owned by Pelindo, namely KT. Anggada and KT. Sumber Makmur.
General Manager of Pelindo Regional 3 Lembar Kunto Wibisono said that the docking process of the ship with an overall length (LOA) of 347 meters, will carry around 4,000 passengers and 1,000 crew members, went quite smoothly. On the land side, his party has also prepared a disembarkation and embarkation route for passengers. In addition, Pelindo Regional 3 has also prepared a modern mobile gangway to facilitate passenger access to and from the ship.
"It is a pride for us to be able to serve Quantum of the Seas, the largest ship that has ever stopped in Indonesia. Of course, this can be done thanks to the hard work of the team and the support of all parties including KSOP, Customs, Quarantine, Immigration, local governments and the travel agents who run it." Said General Manager of Pelindo Regional 3 Lembar Kunto Wibisono.
Furthermore, KSOP Class III Lembar Syamsurizal, S. Kom., M.Sc. appreciated Pelindo for its success in serving the Cruise docking process, he hopes that similar cruise visits can be routinely carried out at Lembar Port, especially the Gilimas Terminal. "As a BUP Pelindo has carried out its duties to provide port services both domestically and internationally, it is hoped that this can be improved so that it can improve the local economy," he added.
Previously, Gilimas Terminal of Lembar Port was one of the modern passenger terminals managed by Pelindo. It has a pier length of 440 meters and has a 2-story building with a total area of 12,300 m2 on the 1st floor and 2,000 m2 on the 2nd floor and is supported by adequate public areas to anticipate large numbers of passengers, Gilimas Terminal in West Nusa Tenggara is one of the alternatives for cruise visits to Indonesia.
