- On 27 October 2024, with the Malaysia Halal Logistics Conference 2.0 taking place at Fives Hotel, Johor Bahru, which was attended by 80 participants consisting of industry players, academics, students, and individual representatives.
The conference reached agreement to formulate the following resolutions:
1. Understand that the implementation of halal logistics includes aspects of comprehensive sharia compliance by ensuring zero defects in every stage of the supply chain.
2. Ensure that there is no element of gharar along the supply chain by creating a complete and solid halal system for traceability, while avoiding information fraud through comprehensive engagement between government-to-government (G2G) and customer-to-customer -customers (C2C).
3. Knowing and complying with the special guidelines issued by the authority, JAKIM, as well as the standard requirements set to facilitate reference for all parties, including applicants for halal certification.
4. Identify and support halal logistics certification schemes, with the confidence that the policies developed through these guidelines can take care of the halal aspects of toyyiban, in line with the needs of the industry.
5. Ensure that each party has full knowledge and awareness of every aspect and element of halal so that logistics management is based on the principle of halal toyyiban.
6. Realizing that critical issues in the halal supply chain need to be addressed immediately to avoid elements of suspicion, in order to ensure the integrity of halal products.
7. Increase public awareness through the integration of halal logistics in food delivery applications, such as Lalamove, and collaboration with food premises.
8. Build a software system that is able to identify issues that occur directly to facilitate quick solutions.
9. Create a monitoring platform to track halal products comprehensively, in addition to encouraging cooperation and awareness of all parties towards aspects of halal integrity in logistics.
