
BANDAR LAMPUNG (ISL News) - IPC Container Terminal/IPC TPK Panjang Area for the first time serves direct call loading and unloading to China. Maiden Voyage MV MAERSK NASSJO docked on October 29, 2024 at pier E of Panjang Port, Lampung with the route Jakarta - Tanjung Pelepas - Qingdao.
"The presence of new services is triggered by the increase in exports of Lampung Province's main commodities such as pineapple, coffee, pulp & paper, and palm oil derivative products such as palm acid oil. It is hoped that this service will trigger the presence of other services to increase exports from Panjang." said Anang Subagyono, Manager of IPC TPK Panjang Area.
MV MAERSK NASSJO, a Liberian-flagged vessel, has an LOA of 171.9 meters and a BEAM of 32 meters and a depth of -7 mLWS. The new service was opened with the loading and unloading of 1,033 boxes / 1,369 TEUs of containers. This service certainly supports business actors who will send their goods to China without transit.
According to the Lampung Province Central Statistics Agency, exports in August 2024 increased by 43.60% compared to the previous year and imports also increased by 1.13% compared to the previous year. China is one of the largest export destinations for Lampung Province.
"From the operational side, our focus is optimizing loading and unloading services so that docked ships can be served quickly and efficiently by ensuring the readiness of personnel and loading and unloading equipment. We are optimistic that collaboration with shipping can bring in large ships with direct call services to various destination countries." concluded Anang.
