JAKARTA (ISL News) - Five years after the merger of four Pelindo entities into one company, PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) continues to strengthen the transformation of port services and operations in various regions of Indonesia.
Pelindo Day, celebrated every October 1st, provides an opportunity to reflect on the integration journey and strengthen the company's efforts to improve performance, productivity, and service quality.
This integration also marks an important milestone in building more integrated port management, both in terms of operations, services, and the development of the national port network.
Pelindo Regional 2 Executive Director Budi Prasetio stated that the merger is a crucial milestone in Pelindo's transformation journey. He stated that the integration of the four entities not only unifies the organization but also lays the foundation for building increasingly integrated business processes and services.
"The merger is a crucial step for Pelindo to move forward as a single company. After five years, we must continue to monitor how this integration delivers tangible benefits through improved services and more effective operations," Budi said in a written statement on Thursday (October 1, 2026).
According to Budi, Pelindo's post-merger journey also needs to be directed towards improving the company's performance and productivity. This aligns with Danantara's strategic direction to encourage more effective, efficient, and professional management of state-owned enterprises (SOEs), while providing greater added value to the national economy.
"Danantara's strategic direction is a crucial part of Pelindo's future journey. We in Region 2 will continue to translate it into improved performance, productivity, and service quality in our work areas," said Budi.
Post-merger transformation continues through strengthening business process standardization, service digitization, asset optimization, and developing inter-port connectivity. This integration is aimed at creating more effective operational processes while providing easier and more reliable services for service users.
In Region 2, this strengthening is carried out by maintaining the reliability of port facilities and operations, improving service quality, and strengthening coordination with service users, the government, associations, and various stakeholders.
"In Region 2, we continue to push for improvements in every area, from operations and service to coordination with service users and stakeholders. Everything must move in a better direction," said Budi.
He added that the port industry's future challenges will be increasingly dynamic. Therefore, the integration that has been established needs to be continued through innovation, technology utilization, increased productivity, and strengthening the quality of human resources.
"These five years are not the end of the integration process. Rather, they are part of a journey of continuous improvement. The challenge going forward is how we maintain performance, improve services, and make an even greater contribution to the national economy," said Budi.
Entering its fifth year post-merger, Pelindo Regional 2 is committed to continuing to take part in the company's transformation by strengthening operational reliability, improving service quality, and maintaining connectivity between ports.
