SURABAYA (ISL News) - PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya (TPS) remains committed to improving the quality of its services to all users. One concrete step taken is providing a comfortable waiting area for truck drivers operating within the terminal.
The waiting room is designed to provide comfort for truck drivers awaiting their turn to be serviced by containers. The waiting room features a spacious rest area, adequate seating, air conditioning, access to operational information, prayer facilities, and other supporting facilities available during their time at the terminal.
The provision of this facility is in line with the direction of Danantara and BP BUMN which encourages BUMN companies to provide customer-centric services while paying attention to the safety, health and welfare aspects of all stakeholders in the national logistics ecosystem.
TPS President Director, Ali Sodikin, said that truck drivers are a vital part of the port logistics chain, so their comfort and safety need to be a shared concern.
"Truck drivers are strategic partners in ensuring the smooth flow of logistics at the port. By providing comfortable and adequate waiting areas, we want to ensure they receive adequate facilities while carrying out operational activities at the TPS. This is part of our efforts to provide a better service experience while supporting the creation of a humane, safe, and productive logistics ecosystem," he said.
Furthermore, Ali emphasized that TPS is not only focused on improving operational performance and terminal productivity, but also continues to pay attention to the needs of service users who interact directly in the terminal area every day.
"We believe that service quality is measured not only by the speed and reliability of operational processes, but also by how the company is able to provide comfort and added value to all service users. The presence of this waiting room demonstrates TPS's commitment to supporting excellent and sustainable service," he added.
As the largest container terminal operator in Eastern Indonesia, TPS consistently implements various service improvement initiatives to support smooth distribution of goods and strengthen national logistics competitiveness. Providing a waiting area for truck drivers is part of the company's ongoing efforts to create a safe, comfortable, and user-focused work and operational environment.
