SURABAYA (ISL News) – PT Pelindo Sinergi Lokaseva (PSL) and PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya (TPS), as part of the Pelindo Group entity, are strengthening synergy in supporting increased security, transparency, and integrity of the port ecosystem through the provision and operation of container scanner services at the Surabaya Container Terminal.
The use of container scanning technology is designed to create a more modern, integrated, and efficient customs inspection process, while maintaining the security and smooth flow of national logistics.
Through a cooperation agreement signed on Friday (September 25), PT PSL provided two container scanners and their supporting systems to be placed at the Surabaya Container Terminal for import and export routes. In addition to the physical provision of equipment, this collaboration also includes information technology integration, equipment maintenance, and the provision of support personnel to ensure operational reliability and service security. The presence of these facilities directly supports the implementation of container inspections by the Directorate General of Customs and Excise and strengthens supervision of the flow of imports and exports in the port area.
President Director of PT Pelindo Sinergi Lokaseva, Faruq Hidayat, said that the implementation of this container scanning technology is a concrete manifestation of synergy between Pelindo Group entities in strengthening the quality of port services, transparency, and accountability of the inspection process.
"Through our collaboration with TPS, we strive to provide integrated scanning technology support with sound systems and governance. The implementation of this technology aligns with Pelindo's transformation direction under Danatara's direction to strengthen digitalization, facility modernization, safety, and service quality. For us, the development of port support facilities is not only oriented towards operational aspects, but also how to provide services that are increasingly transparent, accountable, and provide added value for stakeholders," said Faruq.
Customs Supervision
Meanwhile , the President Director of PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya, Ali Sodikin, stated that the presence of the container scanner facility is a form of TPS support for the implementation of state duties in the field of customs supervision, while ensuring that the flow of logistics continues to run smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
"As a container terminal operator located in the customs area, TPS is responsible for supporting customs inspections conducted by the Directorate General of Customs and Excise. The presence of these two container scanners demonstrates our commitment to providing facilities that support more effective, accurate, and transparent supervision, without compromising the smooth logistics process at the port. Through synergy with PSL, we hope this service can improve supply chain security, strengthen user trust, and support the realization of a modern, integrated, and globally competitive port ecosystem," Ali emphasized.
The provision of two container scanners at the TPS adds to the list of modern port support facilities operated by PSL at various strategic ports such as Jakarta, Surabaya, Semarang, and Medan. Through this collaboration, PSL and TPS remain committed to strengthening port oversight and promoting national supply chain efficiency for the advancement of the Indonesian economy.
