JAKARTA (ISL News) — Pelindo Regional 2 welcomed the visit of the Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje (SENA) Colombia and the Arab Colombian Chamber of Commerce delegation at the Indonesian Maritime Museum, Jakarta, Wednesday (16/9/2026).
This visit was held to introduce the long history of the Indonesian port industry, with a focus on Sunda Kelapa Port which has the status of a heritage port under the management of Pelindo Regional 2.
The group of 38 SENA participants was accompanied by two delegates from the Arab Colombian Chamber of Commerce, Cecilia Porras Eraso and Juliana Cabrejo Porras.
During the visit, participants received an explanation of Sunda Kelapa's historical traces, the dynamics of port activities from time to time, and the role of the port in the long history of national maritime affairs.
Pelindo Regional 2 Regional Division Head Mundzyr Salim said the cross-country visit served as a platform for sharing knowledge and introducing the historical side of Indonesian ports to international partners.
"Sunda Kelapa Port has a long history and plays a vital role in the development of Indonesian trade and maritime affairs. We hope participants will see how this port continues to transform with the times, without losing its historical value and maritime heritage," said Mundzyr.
He added that the Indonesian Maritime Museum serves as an educational space to explore the history of the country's maritime world, from the history of shipping and trade to the transformation of the modern port industry.
Following the presentation, the group toured the museum's exhibition area to see firsthand the collections and educational materials depicting Indonesia's maritime history and the contribution of ports to supporting national connectivity and trade.
Juliana Cabrejo Porras of the Arab Colombian Chamber of Commerce appreciated the opportunity to learn about Indonesia's port history firsthand.
"This visit gave us a deeper understanding of Indonesia's maritime history and Sunda Kelapa's role in it. We were also pleased to see the Indonesian Maritime Museum firsthand and get a real glimpse of the port industry here," he said.
The visit was also attended by General Manager of Pelindo Regional 2 Sunda Kelapa Ahmad Fahmi, Senior Manager of Legal & Public Relations Dany Syuhada, and Senior Manager of General Affairs and Household Budi Utama.
Through this visit, Pelindo Regional 2 affirmed its commitment to opening up collaboration and knowledge exchange with international partners and institutions, while strengthening Sunda Kelapa Port's position as an integral part of Indonesia's maritime heritage.
