CIWANDAN BANTEN (ISL News) - As part of efforts to improve preparedness for potential emergencies, Pelindo Regional 2 Banten held a Fire Hazard Prevention Socialization and Training on the Use of Light Fire Extinguishers (APAR) in the office area, Thursday, September 3, 2026. The activity, led by Bastian Stefanus Maruri, Acting Junior Manager HSSE Pelindo Regional 2 Banten, involved employees and customer partners in the Ciwandan Port area to improve understanding and skills in carrying out initial handling in the event of a fire.
In this drill, participants practiced several extinguishing techniques using a fire extinguisher, including removing the safety pin, aiming the nozzle at the fire source, pressing the lever, and sweeping the extinguishing agent from side to side at the base of the fire. Participants were also taught the importance of maintaining a safe distance, determining proper positioning, and ensuring a safe environment during extinguishing operations.
Through this activity, Acting General Manager of Pelindo Regional 2 Banten, Achmad Yoga Suryadarma, directed all employees to not only be aware of the potential dangers of fire but also to be able to act quickly, precisely, and measuredly in the face of emergencies. Because preparedness isn't just about knowing what to do, but also about being ready to act when the situation calls for it.
