PONTIANAK (ISL News) - IPC Container Terminal (IPC TPK) Pontianak Terminal commemorated National Customer Day 2026 by distributing aid in the form of free snack packages and masks to service users and container truck drivers operating in the terminal area.
This act of sympathy was held amidst extreme conditions due to the rampant Forest and Land Fires (Karhutla) that enveloped the West Kalimantan region and triggered exposure to thick smoke haze. This step is a manifestation of the company's concern for the health of field workers who are at the forefront of maintaining the supply chain of goods.
"This year, we are using National Customer Day as a moment to express our appreciation and provide tangible protection to our service users and truck drivers who continue to work tirelessly. Amidst the haze caused by forest and land fires, the safety and health of our field workers is our top priority, ensuring that loading and unloading operations and distribution of goods in West Kalimantan continue to run smoothly and safely," said M. Loutfie Hidayat, Terminal Head of IPC TPK Pontianak.
The distribution of medical masks and snack supplies aims to minimize the risk of respiratory problems, such as Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI), which threaten logistics fleet drivers during land travel and loading and unloading activities. The compromised health of truck drivers has the potential to hamper operational efficiency and slow the flow of goods in and out of ports. Therefore, attention to health aspects directly contributes to the stability of regional logistics supplies.
The close synergy between the management of IPC TPK Terminal Pontianak and stakeholders has proven to strengthen the operational resilience of the port, so that the fulfillment of basic needs and superior commodities for the people of West Kalimantan can still be distributed on time even though faced with extreme conditions.
