JAKARTA TANJUNG PRIOK (ISL News) - Shipping safety and smooth port operations are priorities in any port infrastructure development. Therefore, any process that could potentially impact shipping activities requires strict monitoring to ensure it proceeds safely, orderly, and in accordance with regulations (August 3, 2026).
The Tanjung Priok Main Harbormaster and Port Authority Office (KSOP) directly supervised the unloading process of the Quay Container Crane (QCC) from the GHT Marimas vessel at the North JICT Pier, Tanjung Priok Port. The Head of the Tanjung Priok Main KSOP Office, Capt. Heru Susanto, MM, was present with the ranks and management of PT Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT) to ensure that all stages of unloading were carried out with attention to safety, security, and smooth shipping traffic.
Quay Container Crane is one of the main facilities in container services that plays a role in increasing the speed and efficiency of the ship loading and unloading process. The QCC presented at JICT uses electric-powered technology (electrified crane) that supports the transformation towards a Green Port, namely a port that prioritizes energy efficiency, emission reduction, and more environmentally friendly operations. As a form of risk mitigation, KSOP Utama Tanjung Priok also issued a Notice to Mariners (NTM) to regulate ship traffic around the activity location so that the unloading process can take place safely.
Through direct supervision and close coordination with all stakeholders, this activity is expected to further strengthen the reliability of Tanjung Priok Port's infrastructure in supporting the smooth flow of national logistics. For the public and service users, port modernization not only provides faster and more efficient services but also reflects a shared commitment to realizing a safe, modern, and environmentally friendly port.
