The activity was attended by the Head of the Bangka Belitung Islands High Prosecutor's Office, Riono Budisantoso, the ranks of the District Prosecutors' Offices throughout the Bangka Belitung Islands, and the management of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2.
Head of the Bangka Belitung Islands KEJATI, Riono Budisantoso, said the cooperation agreement aims to increase synergy between the Prosecutor's Office and Pelindo through better coordination and communication in carrying out their respective duties and functions.
"The purpose of this cooperation agreement is to enhance synergy between PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2 and the Bangka Belitung Islands High Prosecutor's Office. The goal is to streamline coordination and communication, particularly in carrying out their respective duties and functions," said Riono.
According to him, the Attorney General's Office, through its Civil and State Administrative Division, has the authority to provide legal assistance to ministries, institutions, regional governments, state-owned enterprises (BUMN), and regionally-owned enterprises (BUMD). This support includes legal aid, legal assistance, and legal advice to support the implementation of state institutions' duties and functions.
"The KAJATI has duties and functions in the areas of civil law and state administration. This is where we can play a role in providing legal aid, legal assistance, and legal advice. This assistance is crucial to ensure that all policies and business activities comply with regulations and to avoid potential legal risks in the future," he said.
Riono explained that as a state-owned enterprise managing vital infrastructure, Pelindo faces various complex challenges, from implementing business contracts to complying with various regulatory requirements. Therefore, legal assistance is a crucial tool for strengthening compliance and preventing potential irregularities.
"Pelindo manages highly strategic infrastructure and naturally faces complex challenges. This is where the Civil and State Administration division comes in, providing legal assistance, mentoring, and legal advice to prevent potential irregularities and minimize the risk of loss," he added.
Meanwhile, Budi Prasetio, Executive Director 2 of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2, welcomed the collaboration. He stated that the collaboration with the Attorney General's Office is part of Pelindo's commitment to strengthening corporate governance and ensuring that all business processes comply with applicable laws.
"Ports are not only logistics hubs supporting goods distribution and economic growth, but also strategic infrastructure that must be managed professionally, transparently, and accountably. Therefore, we view legal assistance as a crucial part of strengthening corporate governance," said Budi.
He added that Pelindo hopes that the collaboration will not stop at signing the document, but will be realized through various follow-up programs that provide real benefits for both institutions.
"We hope this collaboration will continue to grow through consultations, mentoring, outreach, training, and knowledge-sharing forums. This way, legal risk mitigation efforts can be implemented from the outset, ensuring every company policy has a strong legal basis and provides certainty for all stakeholders," said Budi.
Through this cooperation agreement, the Bangka Belitung Islands High Prosecutor's Office and Pelindo Regional 2 are committed to building sustainable synergy in supporting the implementation of Good Corporate Governance, increasing legal certainty.
