PALEMBANG (ISL News) – Pelindo Regional 2 Palembang has once again demonstrated its commitment to sustainable environmental management by once again achieving the PROPER Blue Rating for the 2024–2025 Period from the Ministry of Environment/Environmental Control Agency of the Republic of Indonesia, which was awarded to Pelindo Regional 2 Palembang through the Environment & Land Agency (DLHP) of South Sumatra Province.
PROPER (Program Penilaian Kinerja Perusahaan dalam Pengelolaan Lingkungan) is a government evaluation instrument for companies' environmental performance. A Blue rating is awarded to companies that have met all environmental management requirements in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Acting General Manager of Pelindo Regional 2 Palembang, Darmawi, said that this achievement was the result of the collaborative work of all Pelindo employees in ensuring that port operations run in line with environmental conservation efforts.
"This Blue PROPER award demonstrates Pelindo Regional 2 Palembang's commitment to operating a port that complies with environmental regulations. We will continue to improve our environmental management performance and support the creation of a sustainable and environmentally friendly port," he said.
This success also motivates Pelindo Regional 2 Palembang to continue improving the quality of environmental management, including pollution control, waste management, efficient use of resources, and the implementation of programs that support environmental sustainability in the port area.
A Blue Rating indicates a company has met government-set environmental compliance standards.
Through this achievement, Pelindo Regional 2 Palembang affirms its commitment to continue supporting the sustainable development agenda and realizing environmentally conscious corporate governance in order to provide added value to the community, service users, and all stakeholders.
