CILEGON (ISL News) - As a form of commitment to supporting the development of superior and competitive maritime human resources (HR), Pelindo Regional 2 Banten received an industrial visit from the Surakarta National Maritime Academy (APN) in the Pelindo Regional 2 Banten operational area. This activity was attended by 46 male and female cadets who had the opportunity to learn directly about the world of ports and the maritime industry.
This industrial visit is part of Pelindo Regional 2 Banten's efforts to strengthen synergy between education and business and industry (DUDI), particularly in developing maritime talent ready to face the challenges of the workplace. Through this activity, participants gained practical insights into port operations, port services, and Pelindo's strategic role in supporting national logistics connectivity.
During the event, the cadets received an overview of the company profile, business processes, and various services provided by Pelindo Regional 2 Banten. The material provided a more comprehensive understanding of the port ecosystem and logistics chain, which are crucial components of Indonesia's maritime sector.
Participants not only received material indoors, but also had the opportunity to engage in direct dialogue with practitioners and the operational team at Pelindo Regional 2 Banten. Through this interactive session, the cadets gained insight into port work processes, from ship servicing and dock management to loading and unloading, which are part of daily port operations.
The General Manager of Pelindo Regional 2 Banten stated that the industrial visit activity is one of the company's contributions in supporting the improvement of the competence of the younger generation who will be part of the maritime sector in the future.
"Pelindo Regional 2 Banten is committed to continuously supporting the development of maritime human resources through various educational and collaborative programs. We hope this hands-on learning experience in the port environment will enrich the knowledge of male and female cadets and provide a real-life picture of the working world in the port sector," he said.
