KUPANG INDONESIA (ISL News) – As an effort to strengthen the culture of occupational safety and health (K3), TPK Kupang held a sharing session entitled “K3 Culture: The Key to Productivity and Occupational Safety” in the terminal operational area on Thursday (23/4)/2026. This activity was attended by dozens of Loading and Unloading Workers (TKBM) as part of increasing awareness of the importance of safe work procedures, the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and the role of K3 in supporting the productivity and reliability of terminal operations.
This activity aims to refresh workers' understanding of the importance of consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), the implementation of clear and structured communication procedures during the loading and unloading process, and steps to mitigate the risk of work accidents in terminal environments that have a high level of risk.
TPK Kupang Terminal Head, Andhik Wahyu Kristianto, explained that by strengthening these aspects, workers are expected to be able to identify potential hazards early on, increase vigilance in every operational activity, and create safer, more effective, and coordinated work patterns to minimize the occurrence of work incidents.
"For us, nothing is more valuable than human life. This sharing session is not just routine education, but rather a forum for dialogue to hear the challenges faced by our TKBM colleagues in the field. We want to ensure that every worker who arrives at the terminal is healthy and returns home safely and without any deficiencies," said Andhik Wahyu Kristianto, Friday (April 24, 2026).
He added that synergy between terminal management and TKBM is the main key to achieving the Zero Accident target for the smooth flow of logistics at TPK Kupang.
Oriaser Metboki, a member of the TKBM, expressed his appreciation for this two-way dialogue initiative. This activity not only builds personal awareness of the importance of self-care at every stage of the work process, but also provides a communicative and relevant approach to field conditions, making the material easier to understand and, hopefully, can be consistently applied in daily loading and unloading activities.
"We feel very helped by activities like this. Sometimes in the field, because we're chasing a fast-paced work pace, we can be careless. But with this sharing session , we're reminded that our families are waiting at home," he added.
Through this activity, TPK Kupang aims to sustainably reduce the risk of workplace accidents while simultaneously encouraging increased terminal operational efficiency. This is expected to be achieved by developing a more disciplined workforce that adheres to procedures and has a high awareness of occupational safety, allowing every loading and unloading activity to proceed more safely, smoothly, and productively.
