AMBON INDONESIA (ISL News) - In order to create a healthy, safe and drug-free work environment, PT Pelindo Terminal Petikemas (TPK) Ambon held an anti-drug socialization activity which was combined with urine tests for all employees.
This activity was held on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. The activity was officially opened by the Head of the Ambon TPK Terminal, Yandi Sofyan Hadi, who in his remarks emphasized the importance of a shared commitment to maintaining integrity and professionalism in the work environment.
"A drug-free work environment is the main foundation for maintaining the company's integrity and providing the best service to the public. We are committed to ensuring that all Pelindo employees work in a healthy, productive, and substance-free environment," said Yandi.
The socialization activity presented a resource person from the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), Rezky Pratama Masuku as Head of the Community Prevention and Empowerment (P2M) Team, who provided a comprehensive understanding of the dangers of drugs, types of prohibited substances, impacts on health and work productivity, as well as legal consequences for violators.
In its presentation, the BNN also highlighted the trend of using electronic cigarettes (vapes), which are considered to have health risks and have the potential to become a gateway to the abuse of other addictive substances.
"Preventing drug abuse must begin with increasing individual and community awareness. This includes raising awareness about the use of addictive substances like vaping, which can potentially have negative impacts on health and behavior. We appreciate Pelindo's proactive steps in this prevention effort," Rezky explained.
As a preventative measure, this activity also includes random urine tests on employees. The tests are conducted by professional medical personnel, upholding the principles of confidentiality, objectivity, and accountability. Through this activity, PT Pelindo Terminal Petikemas Ambon hopes to raise awareness among all employees about the dangers of drugs and strengthen a shared commitment to creating a clean, integrated, and drug-free work environment .
