JAKARTA (ISL News, April 21, 2026) – The Tanjung Priok Class I Sea & Coastgurad (PLP) held a flag-raising ceremony to commemorate Kartini Day 2026 on Tuesday (April 21) in the yard of the Tanjung Priok Class I PLP Base office. The ceremony took place solemnly, with a strong cultural nuance and a spirit of respect for the struggles of Indonesian women.
During the ceremony, all the ceremonial officers were female, honoring the spirit of emancipation championed by R.A. Kartini. The female officers wore kebaya, while the male officers wore traditional attire from various regions of Indonesia, adding to the solemnity and showcasing the richness of Indonesian culture.
The 2026 Kartini Day commemoration carries the spirit of continuing to encourage the active, empowered, and contributing role of women in various fields, including in the government workplace and the maritime sector.
Acting as the ceremony inspector, the Head of the Class I Tanjung Priok PLP Base, Fourmansyah, SH., MM., MH, in his speech conveyed a message to all female employees to continue to increase their capacity and self-confidence in carrying out their roles and responsibilities.
"Be an empowered, intelligent, and independent woman. Never stop creating, continue to improve your competencies to meet the challenges of the Tanjung Priok PLP Base's core duties and functions," Fourmansyah said in his remarks.
He also emphasized that Kartini's spirit must continue to live on in every step of service, including in supporting sea and coastal guard duties, serving the community, and strengthening the professionalism of the apparatus.
Through this Kartini Day commemoration, the Tanjung Priok Class I PLP Base hopes to continue to encourage the creation of an inclusive work environment, provide space for women to develop, and contribute optimally to maintaining shipping safety and security for the benefit of the wider community.
