IPC TPK Optimizes Services, Achieving 850,000 TEUs in the First Quarter of 2026

JAKARTA (ISL News, April 14, 2026) – PT IPC Terminal Petikemas (IPC TPK) successfully maintained solid operational performance in the first quarter of 2026, recording a total throughput of 850,768 TEUs, a 0.9% increase compared to the same period the previous year of 843,187 TEUs. This achievement demonstrates the company's operational resilience amidst the logistics dynamics during the Eid al-Fitr momentum, including restrictions on freight transportation to support the smooth flow of national homecoming traffic.

IPC TPK Corporate Secretary, Pramestie Wulandary, stated that this achievement is inseparable from the company's anticipatory steps in implementing measurable operational optimization, both before and after the logistics restriction period.

"IPC TPK has optimized loading and unloading activities ahead of the restriction period and ensured accelerated flow of goods after the restrictions end. This strategy allows us to maintain smooth distribution while minimizing the potential for congestion at the terminal," said Pramestie.

In March 2026, the loading and unloading flow was recorded at 250,352 TEUs, or a decrease of approximately 14% compared to the same period the previous year of 290,923 TEUs. However, performance in the domestic segment actually showed a positive trend, with volume growing 3.5% from 623,532 TEUs in March 2025 to 645,084 TEUs in March 2026. This increase reflects the maintained domestic distribution activity and the driving force of domestic consumption during the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr periods.

In contrast, international container flows decreased from 219,655 TEUs in March 2025 to 205,684 TEUs in March 2026, or a decrease of around 6.4%, influenced by adjustments to global shipping schedules and the dynamics of cross-border goods distribution during that period.

The IPC TPK also ensures operational synchronization with national policies regarding freight transportation during the Eid al-Fitr period. Intensive coordination is being conducted with regulators and stakeholders to maintain a balance between smooth logistics and public mobility.

Furthermore, IPC TPK continues to operate terminal services 24/7 across all work areas. This readiness is crucial in maintaining service reliability and ensuring optimal national logistics flows, even during periods of high operational pressure.

Regionally, throughput growth was evenly distributed across IPC TPK's operational areas, including the Tanjung Priok area, which grew by 1%, the Pontianak area by 1.6%, the Panjang area by 2%, and the Teluk Bayur area, which recorded the highest growth of 5.3%. This demonstrates the company's consistent performance in managing the flow of goods across various strategic regions in Indonesia.

"The Eid al-Fitr momentum provides an opportunity for us to strengthen our adaptive and integrated operational systems. Moving forward, IPC TPK will continue to strengthen collaboration and data-driven planning to ensure smooth national logistics and support Indonesia's economic growth," Pramestie concluded.
