Surabaya Container Terminal or TPS Surabaya Host "Finance for Non-Finance" Training to Improve Worker Competence

SURABAYA (ISL News, 6/2/2026) – PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya (TPS) continues to encourage human resource capacity building as part of the company's commitment to strengthening governance and operational performance. This is realized through the implementation of Finance for Non-Finance training aimed at employees across work units. The training took place on February 5–6, 2026, in the Kutai Martadipura Room, ASEEC Tower, Airlangga University, Surabaya.


This competency development program, in collaboration with the Airlangga Institute for Learning and Growth (AILG) at Airlangga University, is designed to provide a fundamental understanding of corporate financial concepts and management, particularly for participants without a financial education background. Twenty-one employees from various TPS units, including corporate governance, HR, installation planning, operations, and support services, participated in the program.


Through this training, participants are equipped with materials on financial reporting, cost analysis, budgeting, and financial data-driven decision-making. It is hoped that this understanding will improve the accuracy of the planning process, the effectiveness of cross-unit collaboration, and the accuracy of the implementation of work programs in each function.


TPS Senior Vice President of Finance and Risk Management, Jeanny Harjono, stated that strengthening employee competency is an important long-term investment to address increasingly complex business challenges.


"In terminal operations, every decision across various functions has a financial impact. Therefore, a basic understanding of finance is crucial for all TPS personnel. We are holding this training to ensure that every employee can play a more strategic role in supporting the company's performance," he said.


Jeanny added that human resource competency development will continue to be carried out sustainably through structured learning programs, both internally and through collaboration with external institutions. This effort aligns with TPS's vision to promote professionalism, sound governance, and increased company competitiveness.
