JAKARTA INDONESIA (ISL News, February 18, 2026)  - In commemoration of National Occupational Safety and Health (K3) Month 2026, IPC Terminal Petikemas (IPC TPK) held a QHSSE Forum with the theme " Defensive Driving " at the Indonesian Maritime Museum, Thursday (February 12, 2026). This activity is part of the company's commitment to strengthening a safety culture in the dynamic and high-risk port environment.

The forum was attended by IPC TPK President Director Guna Mulyana, IPC TPK Director of Operations and Engineering Ahmad Mimbar, representatives from Pelindo Group entities, partners, and stakeholders operating in the Tanjung Priok Port area. The event also included free health checks for participants as a token of concern for worker health.

The event was opened by Yandri Trisaputra, Executive General Manager of Pelindo Regional 2 Tanjung Priok. In his remarks, he emphasized that operational safety must begin with individual discipline. "Safety in the port environment begins with self-discipline. Defensive driving is not just about driving technique, but also about attitude, mentality, and the ability to control emotions amid operational pressure," said Yandri.

With the theme  Defensive Driving , this forum discussed the importance of situational awareness, vigilance against  heavy equipment blind spots  , adherence to operational routes, and emotional control when interacting with logistics traffic in the port area.

As areas with high mobility, from container trucks, reach stackers, RTGCs, to other operational vehicles, ports face a significant potential risk of accidents. According to data from the Ministry of Manpower, nationally, workplace accidents still number in the hundreds of thousands per year, with the transportation and warehousing sectors being major contributors. Within the port environment, the implementation of  defensive driving  is considered a strategic step to reduce the potential for incidents that could impact worker safety and ensure the smooth flow of logistics.

This QHSSE Forum is part of a series of National K3 Month activities to complement the ongoing efforts to strengthen the IPC TPK K3 culture  such as safety induction ,  K3 refreshment  for equipment operators and truck drivers, safety inspections ( safety patrols ) and PPE compliance audits, emergency response simulations and work accident handling, the internal campaign " Safety Starts With Me ", regular health checks for operational workers and management of  Dangerous Goods  with SOPs for handling Dangerous and Toxic Goods (B3) to ensure the loading and unloading process remains safe without disrupting the smooth operation of the terminal.

IPC TPK management emphasized that occupational safety is directly correlated with productivity and the smooth running of loading and unloading activities. Any incident, no matter how small, has the potential to disrupt terminal operations, slow container movement, and impact the national supply chain.

By strengthening a safety culture and implementing  defensive driving  collaboratively with work partners and service users, IPC TPK targets the creation of a  zero accident environment  while ensuring that loading and unloading activities run safely, orderly, and efficiently.

IPC TPK Corporate Secretary Pramestie Wulandary emphasized that the safety aspect is the main foundation of the company's operational performance.

"Most activities at the container terminal involve the movement of heavy equipment and vehicles. Therefore,  defensive driving  is a mandatory competency for all personnel and partners. We want to ensure that every individual understands that even a small negligence can have a significant impact on safety and smooth operations," he said.

As part of the Pelindo Group, IPC TPK is committed to consistently and integratedly promoting the implementation of an OHS culture to support the creation of safe, reliable, and competitive ports.
