BANTEN (ISL News) - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2 Banten continues to strengthen the role of Ciwandan Port as a strategic node in supporting the smooth operation of the national logistics chain. This strengthening is carried out through improving service quality, optimizing operations, and developing integrated port infrastructure, in line with the increasing need for goods distribution in Banten and the surrounding area. This step is part of Pelindo Banten's commitment to ensuring safe, smooth, and efficient logistics flows, while supporting regional and national economic growth.
Improving the quality of logistics services is a key focus for Pelindo Banten in enhancing the competitiveness of Ciwandan Port, namely by strengthening the service system with real-time monitoring and information channels for logistics service users, so that operational decisions and goods flow planning can be implemented efficiently. Through a responsive service strategy, Ciwandan Port is expected to continue to meet the expectations of logistics players in terms of service speed and certainty of loading and unloading times.
Further strengthening involves comprehensive operational optimization to ensure smooth and uninterrupted distribution of goods. This optimization includes the arrangement of larger buffer areas for logistics vehicles, systematic dock scheduling, and the readiness of operational personnel to monitor all loading and unloading activities in real time. This step increases the productivity of logistics movements and serves as the basis for providing service certainty for service users, while reducing potential delays in the distribution process at Ciwandan Port.
To strengthen the service and operational aspects, there is also the development of integrated port infrastructure which is a long-term foundation to strengthen the role of Ciwandan Port in the national logistics network. Pelindo Regional 2 Banten operates nine piers that support the national logistics chain activities, namely piers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5a, 5b, 5c, piers 6 and 7, while there is an improvement to Pier 04 Liquid Bulk, the completion of which is being accelerated to expand the logistics service capacity at Ciwandan Port.
"We are making Ciwandan Port a vital part of strengthening the national logistics system, with measurable and sustainable management," said Benny Ariadi, General Manager of Pelindo Regional 2 Banten.
As a multifunctional port with a strategic geographical location, Ciwandan Port plays a crucial role in handling the loading and unloading of dry bulk, liquid bulk, bag cargo, general cargo, and raw materials. Pelindo Banten consistently strengthens its service system and improves operational governance to provide excellent service to its users and enhance Ciwandan Port's competitiveness nationally.
General Manager of Pelindo Regional 2 Banten, Benny Ariadi, said that strengthening the role of Ciwandan Port is a strategic step for the company in building a reliable and sustainable logistics ecosystem.
"We are encouraging Ciwandan Port to continue developing as an efficient and competitive logistics hub. We are strengthening its operations, services, and infrastructure readiness so that the port can provide added value to its users while supporting the smooth distribution of goods nationally," said Benny Ariadi.
Furthermore, strengthening Ciwandan Port focuses not only on increasing capacity and service speed, but also on safety, security, and operational process certainty. All these efforts are carried out while prioritizing professional and responsive service standards, ensuring optimal and sustainable port activities.
Benny added that this strengthening measure reflects Pelindo Banten's ongoing commitment to making Ciwandan Port a port that is managed professionally, efficiently, and in line with national logistics needs.
"We want Ciwandan Port to grow in a balanced manner, both in terms of logistics activities and service quality. By strengthening internal performance and continuously improving services, we are optimistic that Ciwandan Port's role as a vital part of the national logistics chain will be further strengthened," concluded Benny Ariadi.
Going forward, Pelindo Regional 2 Banten will continue to accelerate service enhancements and the sustainable development of Ciwandan Port to make it more adaptive, competitive, and resilient. This step underscores Pelindo Banten's active role in maintaining the smooth flow of national logistics, improving port performance, and driving sustainable regional and national economic growth.
