The Tanjung Priok KPLP Base and the Palembang Class I KSOP Collaborate to Train Ship Inspection Officers

PALEMBANG (ISL News) -
 The Tanjung Priok Class I Sea and Coast Guard Base (PLP) in collaboration with the Palembang Class I Harbormaster and Port Authority Office (KSOP) successfully held the KPLP Boarding Officer Skills Improvement Training which took place from October 6 to 9, 2025 at the Palembang Class I KSOP Office.


The official opening and closing ceremony of the training was led by the Head of KSOP Class I Palembang, First Admiral TNI Idham Faca, ST, MM, M.Tr. Opsla, accompanied by the Head of PLP Class I Tanjung Priok Base, Fourmansyah, SH, MM, MH


This training was attended by 25 participants who were crew members of the KPLP patrol boat from KSOP Class I Palembang, including from KN.327, KN.4010, KN.472, KN.523, KN.50045, KN.50046, and Searider RBB.


3This activity demonstrates the synergy and collaboration needed to enhance the competence and professionalism of KPLP ship inspection officers. The goal is to ensure professional law enforcement, safety, and security of shipping, and protection of the maritime environment.


This training was conducted by a team of instructors from the Tanjung Priok Class I PLP Base, who have instructor certification from the US Coast Guard and are based on the IMOC (International Maritime Officers Course) curriculum and syllabus with International Mobile Training Team standards.


The instructor team consists of Togar Hutasoit, SH, MMTr., M. Taris Hasibuan, SE, MMTr., and Riyadi, SAP, under the leadership of the Head of the Operations Section of the Tanjung Priok KPLP Base, Aswin, S.Sos., MM and the Structural Officials of the two UPTs.


Participants received theoretical and practical tactical training regarding ship inspection procedures according to applicable national and international standards.


In his remarks, the Head of KSOP Class I Palembang, First Admiral TNI Idham Faca, expressed his appreciation for this collaborative activity:


"We greatly appreciate this collaboration. This training is crucial for improving the technical skills of our officers. With the knowledge gained, we hope these officers can carry out their ship inspection duties professionally, thoroughly, and with integrity, to ensure the safety and security of shipping in our jurisdiction, particularly the waters of Palembang, South Sumatra."


Meanwhile, the Head of the Class I Tanjung Priok PLP Base, Fourmansyah, SH, MM, MH, emphasized the commitment to improving human resources within the Directorate General of Sea Transportation:


"This activity is part of our commitment to continuously improving the quality of human resources within the Directorate General of Sea Transportation. Collaboration with the Class I Palembang KSOP demonstrates strong synergy to achieve shared goals—maintaining water transportation, ports, shipping safety, and security, as well as protecting the maritime environment. We hope the knowledge gained by the participants can be effectively applied in the field to achieve law enforcement and zero accidents in the shipping sector."
