CIREBON WEST JAVA (ISL News) – Recently, the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) will conduct a research activity entitled "Cirebon Port: The Upstream and Downstream Gateway in Cirebon and its Surroundings During the Dutch Colonial Period in a Maritime Context" on July 9–18, 2025 at Cirebon Port.
This research aims to explore the strategic role of Cirebon Port as an important node in the maritime logistics and trade network during the colonial period, and to reflect on its contribution to the economic dynamics of the region.
Ports are not only logistics spaces, but also historical sites that hold many important national narratives.
