BENGKULU (ISL New
s) -  PT Pelindo Jasa Maritim (SPJM) as one of the subholdings of PT Pelindo (Persero) engaged in marine, equipment, and port services (MEPS), successfully carried out the inaugural pilotage of the mothership MV Xin An Ping at Outer Anchorage A, Mandatory Pilotage Waters (PWP) Pulai Baai Bengkulu.

The ship with a Gross Tonnage (GT) of 30,962 m3 and Length Over All (LOA) of 189.9 m arrived on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. Carrying a load of 55,200 tons of coal, the Chinese-flagged ship successfully docked at 17.00 WIB.

Tubagus Patrick, Senior Vice President of SPJM said, "Today, SPJM has successfully anchored the mothership in the waters of Baai Island smoothly without any obstacles. Of course, this is a source of pride for us considering that the mothership has an important role in the smooth running of the logistics supply chain which is in line with the government's focus on building port infrastructure and other maritime potentials with the aim of increasing the flow of national goods (logistics).

The waters of Pulau Baai with a geographical location on the west coast of Sumatra and facing directly to the Indian Ocean are very strategic for supplying goods to all regions in Indonesia. The outer anchorage area ( Outer Anchorage A) which has a depth of 15 meters is also very adequate as a mothership anchorage area that will carry out ship to ship transfer activities .

"In addition to coal as loaded by MV Xin An Ping, Pulau Baai is also a means of sea transportation to serve the movement of goods domestically and abroad, especially export commodities such as liquid bulk and dry bulk such as palm shells. Therefore, the smooth loading and unloading activities and distribution of goods in Pulai Baai can not only provide economic benefits for Bengkulu Province, but also contribute to strengthening national maritime connectivity and increasing Indonesia's competitiveness in the global arena," continued Tubagus Patrick.

Tasked with anchoring this first mothership are Capt. Yudi Hernawan (Level I and ANT I Pilot) and Capt. Maxs Agusto (Level I and ANT II Pilot), two reliable SPJM pilots who have experience guiding in Indonesian waters, both for anchoring ships with standard GT and LOA, as well as guiding cruise ships and motherships .
