JAKARTA INDONESIA (ISL News) - Entrepreneurs who are members of the Indonesian Container Depot Association (ASDEKI) support the move by President Prabowo Subianto's government to increase the Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) by 6.5 percent to increase people's income.
"ASDEKI, the Indonesian Export Entrepreneurs Association (GPEI) and the North Sumatra Chamber of Commerce and Industry appreciate and accept the UMP adjustment policy in order to improve the welfare of Depot workers in the field," said Khairul Mahalli, General Chair of ASDEKI in a written statement, Thursday (12/12/2024).
However, this policy is expected to provide a return in the form of incentives so that entrepreneurs get conveniences in terms of regulations to maintain Indonesia's business climate, investment, and competitiveness.
"Of course we hope to get feedback from the government in the form of incentives that can be given to business actors who have been loyal in fulfilling and complying with the policy regulations," said Mahalli, who is also the Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian Gold Community Forum (FORMAS).
Regarding the welfare of workers in seeking export-value products, he said that Kadin, as a forum for entrepreneurs, is obliged to condition this policy.
"Of course, this has added value, government incentives, especially regarding regulatory harmonization, conveniences through proper and correct regulatory arrangements. That is our hope for a better Indonesia," he said.
Meanwhile, President Prabowo Subianto has announced an average increase in the national minimum wage of 6.5 percent by 2025.
Prabowo said that this increase was higher than the previous proposal from the Minister of Manpower, who recommended an increase of 6 percent.
Meanwhile, Minister of Manpower Yassierli revealed that the increase in the 2025 minimum wage applies equally to provinces and districts/cities as stated in the Regulation of the Minister of Manpower or Permenaker of the Republic of Indonesia Number 16 of 2024 concerning the Determination of the 2025 Minimum Wage which was promulgated on Wednesday (4/12/2024).
The increase in the 2025 UMP will be announced today at the latest. It is noted that a number of provinces in Indonesia have announced the increase in the 2025 UMP, including:
1. Aceh Province has set the 2025 UMP at IDR 3,685,616 or an increase of 6.5 percent from the previous IDR 3,460,672.
2. West Sumatra Province set the 2025 UMP at IDR 2,994,193 or an increase of 6.5 percent from the previous year of IDR 2,811,449.
3. South Sumatra Province set the 2025 UMP at IDR 3,681,571 or an increase of 6.5 percent from the previous year of IDR 3,456,874.
4. The Riau Islands Province set the 2025 UMP at IDR 3,623,654 or an increase of 6.5 percent from the previous year of IDR 3,402,492.
5. Riau Province sets the 2025 UMP at IDR 3,508,776.22 or an increase of 6.5 percent from the previous year of IDR 3,294,625.
6. Lampung Province set the 2025 UMP at IDR 2,893,070 or an increase of 6.5 percent from the previous year of IDR 2,716,497.
7. Bengkulu Province set the 2025 UMP at IDR 2,670,039 or an increase of 6.5 percent from the previous year of IDR 2,507,079.
8. Jambi Province set the 2025 UMP at IDR 3,234,535 or an increase of 6.5 percent from the previous year of IDR 3,037,122.
9. Bangka Belitung Province set the 2025 UMP at IDR 3,623,653 or an increase of 6.5 percent from the previous year of IDR 3,402,492.
10. Banten Province set the 2025 UMP at IDR 2,905,119 or an increase of 6.5 percent from the previous year of IDR 2,727,812.
11. Jakarta Province set the 2025 UMP at IDR 5,396,761 or an increase of 6.5 percent from the previous year of IDR 5,067,381.
12. West Java Province set the 2025 UMP at IDR 2,191,232 or an increase of 6.5 percent from the previous year of IDR 2,057,495. East Java Province set the 2025 UMP at IDR 2,305,985 or an increase of 6.5 percent from the previous year of IDR 2,165,244.
13. The Special Region of Yogyakarta has set the 2025 UMP at IDR 2,264,080.95 or an increase of 6.5 percent from the previous year of IDR 2,125,897.61.
14. Central Java Province set the 2025 UMP at IDR 2,169,349 or an increase of 6.5 percent from the previous year of IDR 2,036,947.
15. Bali Province set the 2025 UMP at IDR 2,996,500 or an increase of 6.5 percent from the previous year of IDR 2,816,672.
16. North Maluku Province set the 2025 UMP at IDR 3,408,000 or an increase of 6.5 percent from the previous year of IDR 3,200,000.
17. Maluku Province set the 2025 UMP at IDR 3,141,700 or an increase of 6.5 percent from the previous year of IDR 2,949,953.
18. Central Sulawesi Province set the 2025 UMP at IDR 2,915,000 or an increase of 6.5 percent from the previous year of IDR 2,736,698.
19. Southeast Sulawesi Province set the 2025 UMP at IDR 3,073,551 or an increase of 6.5 percent from the previous year of IDR 2,885,964.
20. South Sulawesi Province set the 2025 UMP at IDR 3,657,527 or an increase of 6.5 percent from the previous year of IDR 3,343,298.
21. Gorontalo Province set the 2025 UMP at IDR 3,221,731 or an increase of 6.5 percent from the previous year of IDR 3,012,318.
