Pelindo Regional 4 Degree Financial Literacy Training for UMK

 – PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 4 in collaboration with PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PMN) held Financial Literacy Training for fostered Usaha Mikro Kecil (UMK) as an effort to support the empowerment of Micro and Small Enterprises, Wednesday (4/12/2024).


The training, which is also one of the Company's Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programs, took place in the Akhlak Meeting Room on the 7th Floor of the Pelindo Regional 4 Office in Makassar and was attended by 30 Micro and Small Enterprises (MSMEs) from various sectors.


This activity was also attended by General Manager of Pelindo Regional 4 Makassar Iwan Sjarifuddin, Head of the Cooperatives and SMEs Service of Makassar City Muhammad Rheza, Deputy Branch Manager of PNM Makassar Suryaddin, Micro Business Manager of Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) Makassar Branch Somba Opu Akbar Noor, Secretary of CSR/TJSL Makassar City Herianto, and Facilitator/Speaker of UMK Financial Literacy Muhammad Nurfitrani.


Division Head of Human Resources and General Services of Pelindo Regional 4, Basri Alam said that this training aims to improve the understanding and financial management skills of UMK actors, so that they can manage their businesses more professionally and sustainably.


In this activity, participants received materials related to financial planning, simple financial recording, access to financing, and effective debt management.


"So far, Pelindo has not only focused on developing the port business, but also strives to create a positive impact on the community, especially UMK. Through this training, we hope that the fostered UMK can improve their financial literacy so that they are better prepared to compete in an increasingly dynamic market," said Basri Alam.


The training also presents experienced speakers who provide practical tips to participants. In addition, UMK actors are given the opportunity to consult directly regarding the financial challenges they face in running their businesses.


One of the training participants, Masyita who has a ready-to-wear clothing business, appreciated this activity. According to her, the training was very useful for her and other UMK who still often have difficulty recording income and expenses.


"With the knowledge provided, we understand better how to make simple financial reports which turn out to be very important for the sustainability of our business," he said.


Pelindo Regional 4 hopes that this activity can be the beginning of increasing the capacity of its fostered UMK to be more financially independent. In the future, this BUMN engaged in the port services sector plans to continue implementing similar programs to support inclusive local economic growth.
