JAKARTA INDONESIA (ISL News) -
IDSquad, IDSurvey shows its commitment to support the realization of carbon emission reduction efforts in creating international standard ports through Green and Smart Port services. This initiative was also conveyed by IDSurvey with the theme "Sustainable Green and Smart Port Initiative for Net Zero Shipping" at the Conference of the Parties 29/COP29 at the Indonesian Pavilion COP-29, Baku Olympic Stadium, Azerbaijan.

"As an archipelagic country with great maritime potential, Indonesia has a responsibility to develop ports that are environmentally friendly and based on the latest technology. Indonesia must ensure that in carrying out shipping via sea transportation, we have followed the regulations set by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) because it is in line with the government's commitment to achieving the Net Zero Emission (NZE) target by 2060 in the maritime transportation sector," said Mari Elka Pangestu as Special Staff to the President of Indonesia for International Trade and Multilateral Cooperation.

Furthermore, the Green Business Coordinator of IDSurvey, Annisa Ayu Soraya who was also present as a speaker said that through the role of IDSurvey in collaboration with the Coordinating Ministry for Food of the Republic of Indonesia, it has initiated the Green and Smart Port scheme which is able to help reduce the carbon footprint of global shipping by reducing exhaust emissions produced by ship engines, optimizing fuel use, and introducing sustainable port infrastructure and technology to support the implementation of a green economy to achieve Indonesia's NDC (Nationally Determined Contributions) targets.

“Through this program, Indonesia has demonstrated its commitment to supporting the global transition to net-zero emission shipping, in line with IMO’s demands for the maritime transportation industry to adopt alternative fuels, increase energy efficiency, and implement green technology across all port operations,” concluded Annisa Ayu Soraya.
