MAKASSAR (ISL News)
 – PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 4 together with the Republic of Indonesia Saber Pungli Task Force held a "Socialization of Strengthening Understanding of Anti-Corruption, Anti-Bribery and Becoming a Person of Integrity", Wednesday (17/7/2024).

The activity, which took place in the AKHLAK Meeting Room on the 7th Floor of the Pelindo Regional 4 Office in Makassar, presented resource persons Inspector General of Police Andry Wibowo, Secretary of the Saber Pungli Task Force of the Republic of Indonesia and was attended by all officials within the Pelindo Group working area in Makassar.

Secretary of the Indonesian Saber Pungli Task Force, Inspector General of Police. Andry Wibowo said that ports are a benchmark for a region's economy. "If you want to see if a region's economy is good, just look at the crowds at its ports. If the port is busy, it means the economy in the region is good."

Therefore, Andry said, do not damage the port with extortion or corruption. Because those two things [extortion and corruption] are the same. "It is better to build a team with Good Corporate Governance (GCG)."

He hopes that Makassar Port will become a role model or example for other ports in Indonesia. Therefore, he asked for support from all parties.

"Pelindo must collaborate with all parties. Let's reduce corruption together, always maintain good relations with all parties. Strengthen relations with various parties," Andry emphasized.

Meanwhile, Executive Director 4 Pelindo Regional 4, Abdul Azis said that after the merger in October 2021, the Company had made quite a lot of changes.

"First, Pelindo has carried out operational standardization. Then operational digitalization for ship services through the Phinisi application, container services with the Ptos PK application, non-container services with the Ptos M application, and passenger and RoRo services using the Ptos R application," explained Abdul Azis.

In addition, he continued, Pelindo has also implemented an online system for billing port services, and implemented an auto gate system for port manless passes and passenger manless passes.

For operational transformation and standardization in all managed ports, said Abdul Azis, Pelindo uses a standardization framework with 6 main pillars, namely Business Process, Equipment, Infrastructure and Facility, Technology, People, and Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE).

He also explained that service standardization has succeeded in reducing port stays in all ports managed by Pelindo, especially ports in the Eastern Indonesia Region (KTI).

He gave an example at the Makassar Container Terminal (TPK) and Ambon TPK, from 35 boxes per hour per ship to 50 boxes per hour per ship so that the port stay became 1 day, from previously 2 days.

For Pelindo, the benefits gained from the transformation of operational services at the port are creating operational cost efficiency, potential for additional traffic, and increasing competence and knowledge. Meanwhile, for customers, there is a reduction in port stay and cargo stay, optimization of berthing windows, and savings in ship rental costs.

"Meanwhile, for the maritime ecosystem, the transformation of operational services carried out by Pelindo has contributed to reducing logistics costs and supporting connectivity," said Abdul Azis.
