JAMBI (ISL News) – IPC Container Terminal/IPC TPK Jambi Area again facilitates MSMEs in reaching the global market through the export of split betel nuts ( Split Betel Nut ). In this export release, IPC TPK served the loading of containers containing 37,200 kg of split betel nuts belonging to PT Alfa Indo Asia to Bangladesh (21/6). Previously in September 2023, IPC TPK Jambi area also facilitated the export of 18,000 kg of split betel nuts sent by CV Indo Kara to Bangladesh.
"As a container terminal operator operating in the Jambi region, IPC TPK strongly supports efforts to improve the economy, especially in Jambi Province through export activities, in this case, the split betel nut commodity," said Wedhar Tani Aji, Manager of IPC TPK Jambi Area.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, areca nut commodities contribute 16.7% of total export commodities. Areca nut is one of the leading commodities in the Jambi region which is a raw material for natural dyes and is beneficial for health. The use of split areca nut is one of the efforts to diversify products to increase the added value of areca nut seeds. Thus, split areca nut has a major role in increasing trade both in the Jambi region and in Indonesia.
Attending the export release this time were the Head of the Jambi Province Trade and Industry Office, Head of the Jambi Province Customs Office, Head of the Jambi Province Quarantine Office, Head of the Jambi TMP B KPPBC Office, President Director of PT Alfa Indo Asia and the Commercial Team of Pelindo Regional 2 Jambi.
"We hope that this strategic step will be a spur for MSMEs, especially agricultural commodities in the Jambi region in marketing their products to the global market," concluded Wedhar.
