In order to celebrate Eid al-Adha 1445 Hijriah as well as a form of sharing and contributing to the community, Pelindo Regional 2 is again holding a Qurban Animal Handover activity.
This year, Pelindo Regional 2 distributed 105 sacrificial cows simultaneously on June 14 2024 at 12 of its port branches, including the ports of Panjang, Banten, Palembang, Tanjung Priok, Cirebon, Pontianak, Bengkulu, Teluk Bayur, Jambi, Sunda Kelapa, Pangkal Balam and Tanjung Pandan.
This Eid al-Adha sacrificial animal assistance is one of Pelindo's Sharing and Caring programs for Social and Environmental Responsibility. In implementing the distribution of sacrifices, Pelindo Regional 2 collaborates with all stakeholders, as well as the DKM of mosques in the work environment that organizes the slaughter of sacrificial animals, for further distribution to the community who are entitled to receive sacrificial animals and the entire process adheres strictly to the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Religion and Indonesian Council of Ulama.
Regional Division Head of HR and General Services for Pelindo Regional 2 Dian Vegawati said "The distribution of sacrificial animals which is routinely carried out every year is a form of gratitude and social concern for the surrounding community and is an effort to maintain good relations with stakeholders in the company's work area. ”
The hope is that the distribution of sacrificial animals can provide benefits to the community and blessings for the company, so that Pelindo Regional 2 can continue to make a real contribution to society in a sustainable manner, said Dian Vegawati.
Based on data from the Directorate General of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health (Ditjen PKH), nationally, the need for sacrificial animals is at 1.97 million, with availability reaching 2.06 million, the availability of sacrificial animals this year has the potential for a surplus of up to 88 thousand. .
The condition of the sacrificial animals to be distributed is very important for Pelindo Regional 2 in selecting the sacrificial animals to be distributed, Pelindo Regional 2 ensures that the condition of the sacrificial animals meets predetermined safety and health standards, namely being free from various diseases such as foot and mouth disease ( FMD) and lumpy skin disease (LSD).
