SUMENEP (ISL News) - PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok (PTP Nonpetikemas) strengthened its synergy with the world of education through its presence in the Stadium General activity organized by Bahaudin Mudhary Madura University (UNIBA Madura) with the theme "Industrialization of the Madura Region in the Era of Economic Transformation: Investment Opportunities, Strengthening Human Resources, and Technological Innovation". The activity took place at the 3rd Floor Islamic Boarding School Hall, Campaka Building, UNIBA Madura, Monday (09/14/2026).

This event provides a collaborative space between industry and education to broaden the younger generation's understanding of the dynamics of the port industry and the challenges of economic transformation in the Madura region. On this occasion, PTP Nonpetikemas presented Port Connect, an educational program for students to gain a deeper understanding of the world of ports and logistics.

From a port perspective, developing this potential requires a logistics ecosystem capable of connecting production centers with markets. Ports serve as a hub for strengthening logistics connectivity, catalyzing industrialization and downstreaming in the Madura region.

Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Rachmad Hidayat, MT, IPU., ASEAN Eng., Rector of UNIBA Madura, said that the General Stadium is an important space for students to understand the development of the port industry and the potential of the Madura region in supporting economic growth and regional development.

Dr. KHRP Zainal Abidin Amir, MA, Dean of the Faculty of Law and Commissioner of PT Pelabuhan Teluk Lamong, added that the region's industrialization must go hand in hand with the readiness of human resources and technology. Through forums like this, he hopes to instill in students the understanding that strengthening human resources and technological innovation are key to Madura's competitiveness in the era of economic transformation.

Indra Hidayat Sani, MBA, President Director of PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok, believes that strengthening human resources is a crucial part of driving regional progress. "We want students to see that ports are not just loading and unloading facilities, but part of an economic ecosystem that connects production, industry, and markets. Therefore, we encourage UNIBA Madura students to prepare themselves to become superior human resources who not only seek opportunities outside the region but are also capable of creating and developing opportunities in Madura," he said.

He added that ports play a crucial role in supporting the national and regional economies. Therefore, collaboration with the educational sector is expected to broaden students' horizons regarding the diverse career opportunities, innovation, and business development related to the port and logistics ecosystem.

Echoing this sentiment, Dr. Prakosa Hadi Takariyanto, MM, President Commissioner of PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok, emphasized the importance of transforming regional potential into added economic value. "Madura has enormous potential, but this potential will only become a strength when it is successfully transformed into added value. The presence of the port as a logistics hub plays a strategic role in accelerating this process, and we want UNIBA Madura students to be part of this transformation," he said.

According to him, Madura has diverse potential, ranging from fish and salt to agriculture and tourism. However, investors look not only at what a region possesses but also at what can be developed and developed from that potential. Therefore, downstream processing is crucial so that Madura's resources don't remain as raw commodities but develop into products and economic activities with higher added value.

Closing the session, PTP Nonpetikemas conveyed a message to the students that Madura's future development requires the involvement of its younger generation. "Madura's future will not be built by others. It will be built by the generation in this room today." This message emphasized the importance of the younger generation's role as drivers of change and part of the regional development ecosystem.

The event was attended by leaders, deans, department heads, lecturers, and hundreds of UNIBA Madura students. One participant noted that the event opened up insights into job and investment opportunities in the region and was made more engaging by the insightful presentation and interactive sessions with quizzes and games with prizes.

As a form of corporate social concern, on this occasion PTP Nonpetikemas also distributed Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) funds to UNIBA Madura to support academic and student activities.

Through this Stadium General event, PTP Nonpetikemas hopes that synergy with the education sector will continue to grow, particularly in the Madura region. This collaboration is expected to help shape a younger generation with industrial insight, the ability to adapt to technological developments, and the courage to take a role in industrialization and sustainable regional economic development.
