SURABAYA (ISL News) - PT Industri Kereta Api (Persero) or INKA has delivered two more platform locomotives to UGL RS Pty Limited in Australia. These two units are the 17th and 18th of a total contract for the procurement of 50 platform locomotives signed in 2021, with a contract value of approximately Rp145 billion (equivalent to USD8.4 million).
The shipment was carried out through the Surabaya Container Terminal (TPS) on Friday (July 10th), which is also a state-owned enterprise. This collaboration demonstrates synergy between state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in supporting the smooth logistics chain for exporting national industrial products.
This delivery underscores INKA's continued expansion in international markets, particularly in Australia and New Zealand. To date, INKA has delivered more than 1,000 freight cars and dozens of platform locomotives to support rail transportation needs in both countries.
PT INKA (Persero) Commissioner, Sangap Surbakti, said that this delivery was an important achievement for INKA because it showed that national railway manufacturing products were acceptable in the international market.
"This delivery is a significant achievement for INKA, demonstrating that national railway manufacturing products are not only used in Indonesia but also accepted in the international market. We express our appreciation to all stakeholders who have supported the smooth delivery process, as well as to all INKA employees," said Sangap.

Therefore, we hope that support for the export of national industrial products can continue to be strengthened through conducive regulations, efficient licensing processes, and cross-agency coordination. Through the implementation of this contract, INKA continues to strengthen the capacity and competitiveness of the national railway industry in meeting global customer standards and needs, while expanding the contribution of Indonesian manufactured products in the international market.
