SURABAYA (ISL News) - PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya (TPS) is back with a strong commitment to supporting community welfare through its Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program. This commitment is realized through the implementation of a program titled "TPS Cares, Healthy & Happy Citizens," which was held in Pakal District on Sunday (June 21) and will continue in Lakarsantri District on July 5, 2026.

This program is part of a social activity based on the DOKAR (Dodolan Koyok Pasar) concept, which aims to provide access to healthy and nutritious food at very affordable prices for the community. TPS, in collaboration with the Baksose Suroboyo Community, provides 200 food packages for each activity, all of which are fully supported by TPS.

Each package contains a variety of fresh vegetables and nutritious food items worth approximately Rp20,000, which residents can redeem for just Rp2,000. This program is expected to ease the economic burden on residents and improve the quality of family food consumption.

The activity took place from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. WIB (Western Indonesian Time), involving various community elements and local stakeholders. The TPS and Baksose Suroboyo collaborated with sub-district and village governments, as well as neighborhood association (RT/RW) administrators, to ensure the program ran smoothly and achieved its intended purpose.

TPS Corporate Secretary, Erika Asih Palupi, said that this activity is part of the social pillar in the 2026 TPS TJSL program.

"This program demonstrates TPS's commitment to supporting community well-being by providing access to healthy and affordable food. We hope this initiative will directly benefit residents and strengthen harmonious relationships with the surrounding community," he said.

This program not only provides direct benefits to the community, but also creates a multiplier effect by empowering local communities and strengthening collaboration between companies, government and the community.

Pakal Sub-district Head, Zainuddin Fanani, expressed his appreciation for the TPS initiative to support the welfare of the community in his area. "We express our deepest gratitude to PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya (TPS) for their support and concern for the residents of Pakal through this activity. This program to provide affordable food supplies is very helpful for the community, especially in meeting their daily needs. We hope that activities like this can continue and provide broader benefits to the community," he said.

TPS consistently implements the TJSL program which focuses on three main pillars, namely social, economic, and environmental, where this activity is included in the social pillar with a focus on improving the quality of life of the community.

Through the implementation of sustainable and collaborative programs, TPS hopes to continue to make positive contributions in supporting sustainable development and community welfare in the Surabaya area and its surroundings.
