SURABAYA INDONESIA (ISL News) – PT Terminal Teluk Lamong (TTL) has once again strengthened its international shipping connectivity by welcoming the maiden voyage of MV WANTAI/WANT001 operated by X-Press Feeders. The container ship made its first berth at Teluk Lamong Container Terminal on Monday (June 1) at 10:30 PM WIB as part of the SCJX (South China Java Express) Service, which will be served routinely every week.
This service marks the second new international service to be introduced to the Teluk Lamong Port throughout 2026 and further strengthens direct trade access between Surabaya and several major ports in Southern China.
The MV WANTAI is a Liberian-flagged container ship with a length overall (LOA) of 210 meters, a beam of 32 meters, a deadweight tonnage (DWT) of 38,250 tons, and a carrying capacity of 2,902 TEUs. On this maiden voyage, the Teluk Lamong TPK handled 1,250 TEUs of loading and unloading.
The ship's service routes include Jakarta – Surabaya – Yantian – Xiamen (OGT) – Xiamen (HTN) – Nansha. This service provides customers with an increasingly competitive connectivity option to support export and import activities, particularly to various industrial areas and major trading centers in Southern China.
Terminal Head of TPK Teluk Lamong, Capt. Pierre Rochel T., said that the presence of SCJX services from X-Press Feeders further strengthens TPK Teluk Lamong's position as one of the main international trade gateways in Eastern Indonesia.
"The SCJX service provides an increasingly competitive connectivity alternative for exporters and importers, particularly to major ports in Southern China. We welcome the trust placed in X-Press Feeders by making TPK Teluk Lamong one of their ports of call for this service," said Pierre.
According to Pierre, the increase in regular international services demonstrates the growing confidence of global shipping companies in the quality of service and operational reliability of TPK Teluk Lamong.
