JAKARTA (ISL News) - Taking place at the Dian Ballroom, Raffles Hotel Jakarta, PT Pelindo Solusi Maritim (PSM) won the Top CSR award at the 2026 Top CSR Awards for its 2024-2025 Welder Vocational Program. The award was awarded after a document selection process and interviews with judges competent in the CSR field. The Welder Vocational Program was implemented in December 2024 and continued with a 6-month internship phase in 2025. A total of 10 participants with vocational high school graduate backgrounds were selected to participate in the program, mentored by trainers from the BKI Academy (Indonesian Classification Bureau).
Vidyah Payapo, PSM's Corporate Secretary, who received the trophy at the awards ceremony, stated that the Welding Vocational Program is PSM's flagship program and is popular with many young people. The program is beneficial in improving the welding skills of vocational school graduates and is an effort to increase employment opportunities and reduce unemployment.
"The need for welders in Indonesia is increasing, so this vocational program will certainly have a positive impact on the country's economy. PSM, a company engaged in shipyard management, is particularly dependent on welders, as most of the work in the shipyard involves metal. To date, several participants have developed their welding talents into their own businesses, while others have gone on to work at PSM and other companies," Vidyah continued.
