SURABAYA, (ISL News 6/3/2026) - As a form of gratitude, during the month of Ramadan, a month full of blessings, PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya (TPS), a subsidiary of Subholding Pelindo Terminal Petikemas (SPTP), distributed takjil for breaking the fast to external truck drivers and operational partners.

This activity is part of the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program which is carried out every day during the month of Ramadan, from February 19 to March 20, 2026, in the export and import parking areas and the TPS stacking yard.

This takjil (breaking fast) distribution activity demonstrates TPS's concern for external truck drivers who continue to carry out their duties and perform religious duties during this blessed month, especially during the fast-breaking time. A total of 300 takjil packages are distributed daily to external truck drivers, from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM WIB. Five TPS workers distribute the takjil provided by the TPS daily.

TPS Corporate Secretary, Erika Asih Palupi, explained that the role of external truck drivers is crucial to the smooth distribution of logistics and operations at the port. "We recognize that external truck drivers play an integral role in TPS's business. Therefore, we are distributing takjil (breaking fast) as a form of attention and care for the truck drivers who operate at the terminal, especially around the time of breaking the fast," Erika said.

Furthermore, Erika also said, "This distribution of takjil is expected to increase the involvement of TPS workers in the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program and support the strengthening of a service mindset or a spirit of better service to our customers," she added.

External truck drivers are one of TPS's four primary customer groups, alongside shipping lines, forwarders, and cargo owners. TPS maintains customer records for 572 trucking companies. Approximately 3,000 trucks enter and exit TPS daily, comprising 1,600 trucks carrying imported containers (delivery) and 1,400 trucks carrying exported containers (receiving). Therefore, TPS's dedicated service to container truck drivers is a key focus of its excellence.
