JAKARTA (ISL News) - The Class I Tanjung Priok Sea and Coast Guard Base (Pangkalan PLP Kelas 1 Tg. Priok), Directorate General of Sea Transportation, Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia (Ditjen HUBLA), has established cooperation with the Djadajat Maritime Academy in order to improve the competence of maritime human resources (HR) through the implementation of maritime safety education and training.
The collaboration was marked by the signing of a Cooperation Agreement which was carried out on Friday (6/3/2026) at the Tanjung Priok Class I PLP Base.
The cooperation agreement was signed by the Head of the Pangkalan PLP Kelas 1 Tg. Priok, Fourmansyah, SH, MM, MH, and the Director of the Djadajat Maritime Academy, Ir. Nuradi, SH, MH, M.Eng.
This collaboration represents a form of synergy between government agencies and maritime educational institutions to support the improvement of the quality of professional and internationally standardized maritime human resources.
As a maritime law enforcement agency under the Directorate General of Sea Transportation, the Pangkalan PLP Kelas 1 Tg. Priok has a strategic role in ensuring the safety and security of shipping, law enforcement at sea, and protection of the maritime environment.
Through this collaboration, the Pangkalan PLP Kelas 1 Tg. Priok provides training facilities and infrastructure support as well as competent instructors in the field of maritime safety, including Fire Fighting training (extinguishing fires on ships), Marine Pollution (controlling marine pollution), and Basic Safety Training at sea.
Meanwhile, the Djadajat Maritime Academy provides educational facilities and a maritime learning system that supports the improvement of the competence of cadets and professionals in the shipping sector.
The education and training programs implemented refer to the provisions of the Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) established by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and have been ratified by the Indonesian Government through the Ministry of Transportation.
This collaboration is expected to strengthen the competence of national maritime human resources and support the realization of a better shipping safety system in Indonesia.
